I know that some of the early 90's Westinghouse vacuums were based heavily on many of the Eureka's at the time. But I came across a picture of one I have never seen before. It looks a lot like a cross between a Eureka Bravo and Eureka Ultra! Has anyone ever seen one of these or have one?

It’s from a unique chapter in the history of the Eureka company.
In 1986, AB Electrolux of Sweden bought White Consolidated Industries - major manufacturer of major appliances in Ohio. Somehow, Electrolux reorganized their North American operations so that WCI was the parent company of all their North American divisions, including Eureka, Sanitaire, Beam Central vacuums, Frigidaire, etc. White Consolidated industries had the right to use the Westinghouse brandname on major appliances, so in the end, AB Electrolux started selling a line of refrigerators and stoves called White Westinghouse. At the end of the 1980’s, we started seeing a select group of Eureka vacuums branded as White Westinghouse: a Bravo upright, a hard body Powerline upright, and even a little Mighty Mite canister. I don’t think these WW Eureka clones were in the stores for very long. If you look at some of the printed items from Eureka between 1986 and 1996 (vacuum cartons, instruction manuals, dust bag packages) you’ll see the copyright listed as with the White Consolidated Industries company. |

Here’s a video of one of the White Westinghouse uprights. In the video, the demonstrator/videomaker has a more accurate dating of this unique line of Eureka’s: more around the early 1990’s during Eureka’s “World Vac” era.
