Yesterday I pulled the sofa from the wall to get something that rolled under there and ... horrors! foot-high dust bunnies! So today I'm cleaning and polishing back there. After vacuuming with my Model E Electrolux, I scrubbed and polished with my Johnson Wax polisher and Johnson Wax Beautiflor wax. |

That looks like a fairly old tin of Polish.
Can you still buy that sort today? Or paste waxes? Here in the UK, they've virtually banned all proper floor waxes (except for commercial use) because we can't be trusted not to slip and to end up in Hospital A&E. Ironically, they use Commercial Paste Waxes on hospital floors! 😂 I recently acquired an fifty-year-old pack of Kirby "Miracle Wax". It'd be a miracle if it still works today. We had an Electrolux Polishing Head for our vacuum. All our neighbours and relatives wanted to "borrow" it, permanently. So our mum stopped lending it, and started hiding it! |

It sounds like UK it's hard to be a vacuum collector. You have to have a step.down or a 220 version. Vaccuum shops don't exist. Sounds like total stereotype so don't burn me. Pubs, tea, fish and chips, bad teeth, football (Manchester United) tennis and worried about the royals. They have no guns, manners, that's all I can think.
I have so many Kirby wax that are old. I have about 10-20 Kirby floor polishers. I use to fluff rug but never wax. We have about 800-1200 square feet of oak floor and the wax buildup with pet hair was bad. We use Bissell symphony and steam clean. Electrolux floor looks very healthy. You have older wood floor with great character and looks awesome. Les |

And we have pokey little houses. No pools. No basements. Garages so small, you can't fit a car in them.
It rains all the time. You'll never see a Policeman. Or a phonebox. Three weeks to see a Doctor. No Royal vacuums. No vacuum shops. No floor wax. Shops closed-down. High Streets empty. Everything's online. Slow Internet. Repeats on TV. Welcome to Great Britain! Coming for a holiday Les? Bring your own lightbulbs 😁 (and some vacuum bits for Alan) |

~ The wax can is from the mid-1960s. Johnson Wax continued selling both liquid and paste wax until the early 1980s.
In the U.S. you can find a similar liquid wax called Wood Preen. Some hardware stores still sell paste wax and you can also get it on amazon.com.
When I polish large areas, I use my Electrolux B-8 polisher, also using Beautiflor wax.
See photo -- is that the kind of polisher your mother had? |

Both the polished floors and the floor polishers look great! Notice the Frank Lloyd Wright research tower and office building on the can. |

~ @Rowdy141 you were a lucky kid! My mom also had the Electrolux polisher with her E-Automatic and I was absolutely obsessed with it. I loved the hissing whine it made and also loved to watch the brush spin around. I have "several" (maybe 30?!) of them now!! Yes, I'm still obsessed with it!! |
