Just wondering, do any Kenmore vacuums have a date code in the serial number or somewhere? Or is there a record where I can find this out?

You can usually guess within a few years based on the colors/model lines, catalogs, etc. But sometimes I'd like to know the exact year.

I am not 100% sure this is a date code, but it does look like one, and it fits.

I have a Kenmore upright (BOL model, no headlight and no features) that has a small paper sticker above the model tag on the inside of the chassis like a price tag. "89G23" I take it to mean July 1989.

Pulling up ads from that year it looks like a match (I don't have a Newspapers subscription, maybe Paul can bring up a bigger photo)

That could be, I have a Kenmore power nozzle that’s also made by Ryobi/Sunger and it has a similar sticker on it that starts with 92. I assumed that was from 1992.

I don’t think the Whirlpool, Panasonic, or Cleva made units have any kind of date sticker, but I’ve heard sometimes the plastic parts have date wheels with the year on them.

Mine and my cousin's Kenmore Professional 12 that's built by SEBO have date codes on them.
