 I am not 100% sure this is a date code, but it does look like one, and it fits. I have a Kenmore upright (BOL model, no headlight and no features) that has a small paper sticker above the model tag on the inside of the chassis like a price tag. "89G23" I take it to mean July 1989. Pulling up ads from that year it looks like a match (I don't have a Newspapers subscription, maybe Paul can bring up a bigger photo) www.newspapers.com/newspa... | ||

That could be, I have a Kenmore power nozzle that’s also made by Ryobi/Sunger and it has a similar sticker on it that starts with 92. I assumed that was from 1992.
I don’t think the Whirlpool, Panasonic, or Cleva made units have any kind of date sticker, but I’ve heard sometimes the plastic parts have date wheels with the year on them. | ||
