So I finally finished reassembling my Model 2100 and have a question.

The pre-motor filter looks a bit after market.

Does anyone have a picture of the OEM pre-motor filter.

I am going to use the one I found in the vacuum, as a template to make extras from sturdy pressed board like the kind used in file dividers. It is a tiny bit larger than letter size, so I will be getting some legal size dividers.

Once I iron the fold over sample, I will spray paint the shape onto the board, then store it. I plan to cut out the outer shape, then exacto the "windows". The spray paint will further seal/preserve the template for future use.

You mean this one?

I don't know if it's the original one from my vacuum, but it's what was in it when I got it.
Sorry it's kind of messed up.
Since I can't get a new one, I figured this was better than nothing.

Thanks for responding, Barry....

yes that is the one. So that confirms my question. I see yours has the same white fiber inside. I probably will use something else in it's place. As you see, the "frame" is not very sturdy, I will remedy that when I make my replacements.

Thank you Barry,
have a good one.

I remember seeing pictures just like that when some places were still listing them as "available" but they weren't.

For the material, I might consider a more modern HEPA cloth material. It will keep the motor cleaner and might improve performance.

I have a Slimline. Same machine from the bottom "pan" down. The Slimline doesn't have a pre filter, only a wire screen on one end of the motor. But it does have the same exhaust filter in the little door. Mine was long gone. So I got some of the cut to fit material that you can put inside air conditioning vents. It was the perfect fitness to glue inside the door, and it works very well.
