I had just noticed in the latest closing list, my local Sears is closing in my town. I will miss looking at the vacuums there, since they are some of my favorites and have been since I was very young, since I grew up with Kenmore canisters. I plan to make a video of the vacuum department before the store closes.

I wish they'd get the Kenmores in stock in Lowes and Home Depot since they sell them online.

Shame, but seriously you should've seen it coming, lol

I thought Lowes had Kenmores in stock already?

Dead Store Walking...

Sears is dead. It's only a matter of time before they're all gone. The one in my city is still hanging on by a thread but it's pretty much a shell these days. The mostly empty parking lot in the middle of an otherwise bustling shopping center pretty much tells the story. They remodeled about eight or nine years ago and leased out almost a third of the space, including the front of the building, to Whole Foods, which is kind of ironic, considering who now owns Whole Foods. The parking lot on that side of the building always stays full.

Lost the two closest to me. There was one an hour away that closed, then reopened and, closed, reopened and so forth. I lost track of what their status is.
I've been to about 5 closing sales. Scored plenty of tools, a desk chair, filing cabinets, and a Hoover rug

Ours are all gone now, K-Marts too.

It's a shame, as they used to be the #1 and #2 national retailer.

They suffered from a CEO that was more interested in real-estate than retailing, and in the end forgot the most important thing about doing business with the public.  The Public.  Both stores became very user-unfriendly, cost-ineffective, and RUDE.

Though they used to be great, nows all I have to say is So-long.

Ours is alive but not well. I was there 50+ years ago to buy my first vac from this store, so it is old. I hope they can manage to restock it a bit

The Sears at the Mall of America here closed this year. The thing is that mall is kind of a destination always packed with locals and visitors from all over the country and world. The place is always crowded. However when ever I went into Sears it was always nearly empty, so sad to see. I suspect within five years all Sears stores will be gone unfortunately.

The Sears store in Greenville is still open they have a sign posted on the major road its on saying they are open.I visit the place-its like a ghost town!No one in the appliances-the TV's and electronic portion has been replaced by bedding. The Craftsman tools are very small selection.the neighboring Lowes has MORE Craftsman tools than the Sears does.Wonder how long the place will stay open. The neighboring Dicks Sporting goods place is becoming a ghost town, too. The open air mall these places are in is mostly empty. It replaced an enclosed mall that fell on hard times and was bulldozed to make way for the new place,Kohls(doing well) and Dicks.

Yeah, I mean, I knew they were pretty much done for but I was surprised they were still open this long. I had hoped for a while if it made it this long that the chain might be able to stay open, but I always knew in the back of my mind it wouldn't happen.

Lowes has them on their website. But I haven't seen any here, as far as I know Home Depot, Lowes and Walmart sell them online but I've never actually seen them in any of those stores.

There's still one here in the Florida Mall in Orlando, but I imagine it's like you say, where that's the only place in the mall that isn't busy.

I doubt they'll be around 5 years from now either, honestly I didn't expect any of them to still be open by now. They're all irrelevant now unfortunately. Most people have forgotten about them by now, or thought they've already all closed down.

THe closest one now is in Montgomeryville, near Philadelphia. So sad to see them all go. We still have a K mart nearby. It's probably on Hospice at the moment.

The thing that boggles my mind is why is Eddie Lampert being allowed to get away with gutting Sears' and Kmart's assets for his own gain?

The ONLY Sears store I've found in NW OH is a Sears Hometown in Bowling Green (Woodland Mall) but I don't know for how much longer it'll still be there; as the Woodland Mall itself is also 'struggling' to stay around since Elder-Beerman closed last yr

www.sent-trib.com/news/wo...

There aren't anymore K-mart in NW OH; the Fostoria one closed earlier this yr

Its been nearly a decade when North Towne Square mall & Southwyck Mall closed; Woodville Mall closed during the 2012 Christmas shopping season
