Today, I feel like talking about 2000's Bagless Hoovers. The first ones I'd like to talk about would be The Hoover Sprint/Runabout bagless 12 amp (u5023-900 and u5025-900) and the Hoover Widepath/Tempo bagless series (u5302-900, u5344-900, u5347-900, u5348-900, u5349-900, u5351-900, u5361-900, u5363-900, and u5365-900). I know some of you don't want to talk about these models, we can talk about other 2000's bagless Hoovers. Like the Fold aways and Savvies. My family used to own the non-widepath red Fold away.

I don't know much about them. But my friend had a Hoover Empower that was silver and orange. Not a bad looking vacuum. I thought the switch with Power Surge and Hush modes was neat, plus it was kind of cool that the attachments were like the Elites.

I think you can still get these as a commercial model.

The commercial Empower is still being sold.

I looked on the Hoover's commercial website. They still make and sell them today. When The Empower was introduced, it came in Deep blue, Techno Blue, Orange, Green, and a very dark, almost black, shade of Gray. The gray one was called the Turbo Empower 4600 when Hoover's Turbopower line up was still going on. The Empowers were models u5260-900 to u5269-900. I think these were meant to be a slightly upgraded version of the Fold Away. I hope I can find a Turbo empower 4600 (u5268-970) or the Techno Blue empower (u5265-900).

What a coincidence

I picked up an elite style twin chamber a couple days ago. It has a little wear and tear, but works fine. Filtration isn't the best, but it deep cleans well and looks really cool.

This brings up a lot of questionable memories working at a vacuum shop.
These direct air bagless machines for a poor execution but not a bad idea really.

I have to say the bag versions were always better.

The only U Series bagless Hoover that I really liked would be the Elite Rewind U55079RM. Had mine since it was new, very impressive performer. One of the best bagless uprights that I've ever used.

High quality images from the old Hoover.com

I felt like going to the Wayback Machine for no reason. Here's some images from Wayback when Hoover was still owned by Maytag. Along with an image of the 970 Turbo empower 4600
