Hello, I'm new to Vacuumland. I'm wondering if anyone on Vacuumland has or knows about this model of Shop vac. It's a blue Shop vac hang up (Black top, blue bottom.) model 2015. When I got this a year ago, the brass bushing was making a groaning noise and a grinding noise when you'd turn it on. I lubricated the brass bushing yesterday with 2 drops of motor oil and the groaning noise went away. It still makes a grinding noise when you'd turn it on. But at least the groaning noise is gone. I don't know when it was made. But I'll post pictures of it tomorrow or sooner today if I get a chance.

Here's a picture of the Shop vac I'm talking about. The turbine tool came from a Eureka cyclonic vacuum that me and my dad took apart and saved some parts from it before throwing the rest away. The model of Eureka I used to own was a red cyclonic Whirlwind plus (model-3277AVZ). It also smelt kinda bad.

Yeah, I thought Lowes too because I remember seeing Shop Vacs there that were gray/blue.
I like these mini shop vacs, and they are great for cleaning the car, since they have strong suction and are light and compact to move around the vehicle. With a dusting brush they detail the dashboard and vents well, controls, etc. I bet it would work good on carpet and mats with that turbo tool. |
