Got this Classic the other day. It’s a beautiful machine. The only problem was the bag. The patch was in great shape so I removed it and sewed it onto this new bag. Not a Kirby bag, but I think it looks good.

Nice!

I hope to find a Classic/Classic Omega someday. I almost could have when I was browsing a thrift store, but the motor unit was nowhere to be found. The attachments and floor nozzle was there. I searched and searched that store and came up short. Even asked one of the employees -- they didn't even know what a Kirby was or if they had the rest of it hiding in the back. I was crestfallen. I love the woody looks of the 1-CR and 1-CB.

Chris nice machine. I know where you got the bag and I would not be surprised if it isn't a Kirby bag. I have a classic with every attachment. I put a new fan on and the coil has a screw that goes through the carbon brush housing is broke off. So bottom of the coil and above brush housing I have to cut screw. It's been there for 7 months.
That machine has a beautiful streamline look. I may buy a similar bag if I get screw out.
The trim looks brand new. You have a mirror finish. It's what I hope my classic will look like.

Supercod: Thanks! Similar thing happened to me at a thrift store with a Hoover Celebrity. They had the canister but nothing else. Oh well, lol. One of these days. It was a shame too because the canister didn’t have a scratch on it.

Les. Yes, Henry Company bag. It was NOS and was only $9. One of these days we will find a fully correct Classic bag, but for now, it works and (I think) it looks good. The bag that was on it was terribly faded and frayed and blew out more dust than it sucked in. The polish job came out really nice, the trim is mostly new old stock parts. Well, I guess now they are used, lol.

It's not really new old stock if you took it out of Kirby packaging.
I guess you can call it gently used to be politically correct.

I like the kind of tweed or houndstooth look to it, it has a better accent to the rest of the vacuum.

I have a Classic as well but in terrible condition, $8 Goodwill find in 2010. Glad I hung onto it, it seems you don't see the Classic so easily anymore.

I think I also have a paper bag converter for it I bought at the time off eBay because I didn't want to use the shake out bag, well the motor didn't last long enough to do that sadly.
