I stumbled upon something I had been looking for ....for some time now, at my local Goodwill store. Royal Proteam 11amp in blue! but....it dint' come with a power nozzle! ;-( Luckily, my friend who owns his vac repair store had an electric wand and PN for me!!!! Took it home and cleaned it thoroughly ( like I do with all my vacs) polished/removed scuffs .....and got some enviropure micro allergen filters and premotor filter.....now it runs clean and the pn revives the nap wonderfully ! The only issue is that it seems Royal used a separate wand for the hard floor attachments (non powered) as opposed to the powered wand for the PN. My model here came with, or so it seems, airflow and power controls on the wand handle....it was cracked and messed up good...but I fixed it, but I need the correct wand FOR the handle w/controls.....its slightly different than the non powered one ( see pics ). If anyone knows where I can find that one....please do tell! The FOLLOWING model was a 12amp and they removed the suction control and I think power control off the handle and onto the main canister body. I like this one better.

bonus: I got a new/unused Dirt Devil/Royal hand held vac attachment set! The 'collector' in me is excited....the practical person within me says, 'you'll never use these...with all the vacuum attachments you have for your full sized vacuums''. haha. Can any of you relate to that? buying JUST TO HAVE? many of us are partial/full addicts! Also, this proteam canister had the protective matching rubber protective trim around the cord holder which I hadn't seen ( most are missing....and that rim is quite sharp! beware)

Anyway, just a fun acquisition for me...even though I'm mainly an 'upright vac guy'...I like Royals so the only one now on my radar to find/buy is the odd Royal Powercast model....wish me luck!

Very nice vacuum. When I see down my vacuums I'm getting one like that. You have connections and great price. They run $150 and up on eBay.

Looks amazing, Kelton!

As for buying something, "just to have it":
Any of my fellow hoarders reading that would surely have to chuckle.
I do it all the time!
Most recent was a 1966 Maytag wringer washing machine.
Oh, sure. I would love to be able to run a batch of two in it every once in a while.
But, in all likelihood, it will end up being eye candy in my laundry room.

Good luck in your quest for a Powercast!

Barry

Les. yeah, I watch them on ebay too...shipping is often the killer on the deal....luckily, I got this one for $23 ( a few $ to my friend for the other stuff)

Barry, thx and yeah, I bet others chuckle ( b/c many ARE hoarders to some degree)haha. side note: I like most all things 'old'/vintage' so I can appreciate washers/dryers too....but if you aren't gonna use them.....? would you suspect many owners of old w/d's DONT use them as well?

I'm sure they're out there.
I'm also a member on the Automaticwasher site.
It seems most folks there actually use their vintage machines.
But, it also seems like most of them work on their machines themselves.
A skill that I'm sadly lacking.
And, I'm not mechanically inclined, to where I'll just pull something apart and try to learn as I go.
Throughout my lifetime, anything that I've ever been brave enough to take apart has, almost without exception, never gone back together.
