Has anyone ever used Sugru to replicate hard-to-find trim pieces?

My Royal 884 has a missing headlight cap trim piece. I was thinking about Sugru and was wondering if I could successfully pull off making a replica of the baby blue headlight trim cap that I cannot seem to find anywhere? Has anybody used Sugru before? Do you think I would be able to mold it to the edge of the headlight cap and make it look OEM?

There is trim out there I got 2 baby blue pieces for my vacuums. Henry vacuums on eBay is who you should message.
I never heard of sugru. I'd imagine it's like a silicone. Be hard to make headlight trim I'd think. If it works you opened another avenue for restoring vacuums.
If you have money try it.

Would be difficult

I've used it before to make a missing foot for an old typewriter. It's like molding playdough and is very pliable....you let it sit and it hardens after a while.
If you could make a mold out of wax or something, I'd say go for it.....without a mold it would be extremely difficult to make a perfect piece unless you are a sculptor. Try to make a mold out of plaster of paris or wax.

I didn’t see an email on his profile. Well, looks like he’s got 2 to choose from! I am going to experiment with that Sugru. Gonna get some clay and see if I can make a mold and see what (if anything) happens. I’ll let you know.

Set one up. He wants 1 million dollars. It's a good deal. Lol set up a venmo account too. If you buy vacuum parts those are most common payment methods.

That’s where I bought the part I posted the pictures of. They are really great people and are very reasonable. If you still have interest in the part I posted, let me know. Good luck!
