Seen this Miele on eBay. If the shipping wasn't $60 I'd buy it. I have no idea how it got this abused and torn up, it amazes me when people spend $800+ on a vacuum the way its treated.

I'm pretty sure you could order a shell and turn around and make a few hundred dollars profit.

What'd they do that thing? It looks like it's been dragged behind something the way the cover is all pitted like that, and then dropped from a fair height. I'd say you're not missing out on much by not buying it! Miele parts are not cheap I know a switch for one of the older series machines was like 40 something to replace all the body parts I'd assume would be at least 200 or more. I also have to question how well it actually works given it's outer condition.

Oh I know, I'm just saying if the shipping was $20 or so I'd buy it.

I have a Miele myself too that some dummy used as a garage & workshop vac and the poor thing is so beat up and hacked together - and I might go bankrupt on parts. lol (It's an ultra rare Black Diamond model)

I have seen some well-worn Kirbys go much higher than this in spite of their condition!

There's a couple more reasons not to buy this Miele besides the body damage. Miele had SERIOUS issues with the circuit boards failing on the S500 series models that had the + / - speed foot control switches & the handle speed controls. There are a couple YouTube videos showing owners who brought S500 models in for that problem & they got new C3's as replacements. I know our local shop got in a Miele S500 series Classic? if I recall correctly, & they couldn't get the right circuit board for it, & they tried FIVE of them! They got a new S500 model as a replacement.

Also, if you look at the last photos in the Ebay listing, note how the digital display shows 1200 watts, yet the max it shows on the settings is 1100 watts. That tells me the motor must have been replaced with the Vortex motor at some point. If that's the case, this vacuum would have been abused it's entire life. Also, the direct connect hose is incorrect for that model - there's a YouTube video of a Miele Artico that shows the earlier hose, wand & powerhead where there is a external cord on the outside of the wand, not direct connect SET210 wand like this hose would take.
