It is a model U6485-900 anniversary model and could have been manufactured as recent as a year ago. AFAIK Hoover just recently discontinued the power drive Windtunnel.

Wow, this is the model I've been looking for too!

But buying a less than year old vacuum off Craigslist with the model label removed....leads me to believe you bought a stolen vacuum?

I like the look of these self propelled Windtunnels. Especially these late ones with the blue color, also some with an alien green color, and the older ones in hunter green. These are one of the few newer Hoovers I'd want to collect. The only thing I don't like about these, is as with many plastic Hoovers they are very loud.

Yes it is loud

It is pretty loud even louder then my Kirby though it's certainly not too terrible that I'd need ear protection another thing that bothers me with plastic vacuums in general is i worry they will get brittle and crack so I'm extra cautious when using it and make sure I don't use it too long

Keep in mind that the Anniversary edition Windtunnel is built the same way as the original '98 models. It will be loud, dusty, and cumbersome, but that is why it's a heritage model and it is a throwback to when they were great and what made them great. Nothing cleans like a Windtunnel vac. This model is not another "plastivac". They still sell new for $170-$200 in some stores. I haven't been able to find one online for less than $120. It's worth every penny to me.

I used to see them at Sears and maybe Walmart up until about a year ago. They turn up in thrift stores once in a while, but usually missing attachments.

Yes they're absolutely great vacuums ofcourse they're cumbersome but when my second vacuum is a Kirby Diamond it's clear I don't mind a cumbersome vacuum it does clean great I'd still say a Kirby is better but that windtunnel is really a terrific vacuum worth the money it certainly out cleans many more high priced vacuums (notably out cleans a Dyson) my one complaint is the stretch hose is pretty worthless since it wants to suck back into the vacuum but it's usable for quick pickups and couches where im not stretching it too badly as for the noise I don't mind and with the HEPA Bag and the final filter that I've changed to the HEPA final filter the Dust isn't too bad

I guess there's a consensus

I guess the consensus is that this is the anviersery model

There's more than just one anniversary self propelled model, they've also sold these in gray as well which is the color that I personally prefer the best on these newer UH self propelled models. They were also sold as maroon, green which is my personal favorite, and shadow gray which that one is on a bagless model. Those weren't really considered as anniversary models.

Yes, yours is the U6485900 because it has the two slide switches for Carpet Height and Floor Type Selector.

There was also the lower-end Hoover U5491900 Anniversary model which only had one carpet height selector.

Oh also, I forgot to add - the U6485900 is also self-propelled. The U5491900 is not.

I believe the earliest of these blue Anniversary self-propelled models in late 2000s had a clear door over the turbo tool and used an older version of it.
