Hey there! I've been busy today in the vacuum cleaner department, I bought lots of ELectrolux stuff.

Also the seller had a Rainbow D2 for sale, something I don't know a lot about except that it uses water to catch the dust instead of a bag.

He had a bag full of accessories so I decided to include the whole thing in the deal.

BAck home, I tested it on my kitchen floor. It catches dust pretty well, but the power nozzle doesn't work at all. I think I don't have the right connector for it, what do you think? The power nozzle has a 2 pin connector, but the plug on the can has 3 holes...

Also, I took a picture of the inside of the canister that shows what looks like the remainings of a rubber ring, am I right?

So I'm mot sure if I bought something good or a piece of junk that needs lots of work and hard to find spare parts.

Was also included in the bag of accessories a gizmo called an Aqua-mate, I suppose it is used to clean carpets and rugs, is it actually efficient and easy to operate?

It looks to me, that you got accessories for a D4 model ( I have that one)....I thought accessories for D2 matched the unit itself colorwise. I didn't know it was a 3 prong plug though.

Thank you guys. Now I understand why the vac itself and the bagfull of accessories weren't side by side in the lot for sale. On the D2 hose, is the connector a 3 pin at one end and a 2 pin at the other end? I ask the question because the connector on the power nozzle I have is a 2 pin. Maybe the right power nozzle for the D2 has a 3 pin connector too?

I'm also concerned with the big rubber ring that looks like broken inside the can, is it actually broken , and if so, is a replacement available?

DOes anyone here has a parts manual for the D2 model or could give me a link to find a free one?

Update: I just found schematics of the D2 on the Rainbow website. It seems that they have lots of replacement parts for this old version.

Parts

The hose from a D4 will work with the D2 (I have both models), but the D4 power nozzle can't attach to the D2.

Does the Rainvac site sell the D2 pn?

My D2 didn't come with one, so I can only use it for my hard floors--and most of my house is carpet, which means she mainly sits in a closet, while D4 does all the work. It's too bad, as I love the look and feel of this machine, and its narrower handle is a better fit for my hands. I've been thinking of passing her on to someone else, for this reason. No need for a working D2 to be gathering dust.

Bluebonnet,

They sell parts to fix a D2 PN, but not the PN itself.

They also sell parts to convert the 3-pin PN plug to a 2-pin on the vac itself, so I'd be able to use the PN I have.
