Found this Optima in the dumpster yesterday. When I found it, It was covered in coffee grounds and the dust cup was literally full from top to bottom! The bottom 2" of dirt was actually petrified! Everything works, but it has a few issues. The handle grip wants to twist (some glue might fix that), the handle extension pedal is broken off (still works though), and it is missing a wheel.I can fix the first two issues, but I can't find a wheel. I checked ebay and the major online vacuum parts stores. Does anyone have a spare one that they would be willing to sell? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Not really sure if there was a version of the optima under the electrolux brand but there might be, anyways, REMEMBA TO CHANGE LE FILTER OR THE THING WILL DIE, I have one but it features the cleaning effectiveness on the cleaner head, I like to call these the eureka cleaning effectiveness rip-offs, The one I have is green and released in early 2006, The optima is a really good (I can't say great because I'll be harrased) cleaner even though its size, I like mine because it doesn't eat rugs like a shark, I can clean my grandma's room with ease.

EurekaFanSquid is right - you need to keep an eye on the filter. This vacuum has a small high powered motor that works very well - but if the filter is clogged, it can suffocate the motor. I used mine before blowing out the filter and the cord got so hot it was alarming. The motor was drawing lot of power trying to get suction.
Once I bought a small wheeled air compressor I took the filter and blew it out and it exploded in a big dust cloud - it never had a filter replacement. The belt has since broken and it's been in storage for years. I plan to replace the filter among other parts when I restore it. I hope to find a green handle but if there is a yellow one floating around I will likely replace it with that. Better to have a new functional part in a different color than a broken and unusable part left on there. Then when I find a matching part I can just change them out again and sell the other one again. |

Also dont be afraid to say what you want to on here, If they harass you, just block them and their comments are automatically hidden and then their words fall on nobody. I get harassed too for collecting cheap Sharks when I can find them cheap - or from fixing up a Dirt Devil found on the curb. A lot of collectors here are too old to appreciate these newer brands like we do. That's really all it is. A lot of great vacuums have come out since 2000+.
