Hey
You put patch on correctly and used bag hanger along with bag you got from me. The bag is nice but holy cow that's an amazing polish job. The handle graphics the trim everything is immaculate. You can tell attention to detail. That is a beauty glad to sell you the bag but the vacuum is amazing. I'd tell you to enjoy it but you built it and I'm pretty sure you will enjoy it.

Nice restoration. The Omega is a Kirby I've had on my list simply because it was the very first Kirby model I ever saw when a salesman demonstrated it in our living room in about 1973. I saw one at a thrift store once for $10. It was in nice shape and I would have bought it but someone else was looking at it. Instead of ripping it from his grasp--I am a Southern gentleman, after all--I showed him how it worked and answered a couple of questions he had about it. I must have done a good job because he ended up buying it.

There is a seller in Oregon caroljean I believe. She has a ds50 a heritage and a few g series vacuums. I bought a tradition and a legend like that. I have not polished up like yours yet but now all my stuff is organized I will probably be busting out a few vacuums a week.
If you ever sand your vacuum I'd recommend Kirby turbo sander. It works great and it vacuums all the dust. I use it on any vacuum I sand. The polish you have down but in case it's worth the$15-$20 investment. Les | ||

Sanding I sand them in steps. 180 grit to remove gouges if needed, then 320, then 400, then 600, then 800, then 1000, then 1500, then 2000, aaaaaannnnnnnnddddd then some flitz. If its just tarnished then I start at 1000 | ||

I sand same steps but at 2000 I wet sand. Amazon has like 150 piece of sandpaper for $15. I have not tried Fitz but seeing your results I will.
I have basically a commercial professional buffer for cars made by DeWalt. I buffed a few things. The buffer is 7.5hp and gets up to 4500 Tom's. I polished a tradition nozzle. The buffer torques like a mother it torqued and slipped a little. The nozzle flew 50 feet across the yard. I don't use it much as I could kill myself polishing. I use steel wool before I sand it cleans up some oxidation. The job you did makes me want to polish a few of my excessively number of Kirby's. Les | ||
