I get the Sunday paper every weekend just for the ads, so I can get the coupons and see what new foods came out and what stuff is out there. Also for the vacuum ads even though they are all way out of my budget.
I always clip the vacuum ads out and save them, and I have noticed lately there is a lot less vacuum cleaners that have been in the ads since around last autumn. There used to be about 20+ vacuum clippings I would have by the end of the paper, now I usually only get 2 or 3. |

Hmm, I used to look at the Sunday paper ads every week, but we don't get the newspaper anymore.
I don't remember there being that many stores with them though. Mostly Walmart, Lowes, Sears, Bed Bath & Beyond and Kmart, maybe Home Depot. Usually Walmart and Sears had the most vacuums in their ads. Kmart too but it's been well over a year since they cloed here. Oh, and Belk sometimes would have a Shark or two in theirs, which was mostly all they sell, they're more of a clothing dept store. |

On TV I usually see ads for Dyson digital stick vacs (not as much lately though), the new Shark Navigator with the self cleaning brush roll, and the Bissell Crosswave.
Oh and about a week ago I started seeing Samsung Powerbot vacuum commercials. I haven't seen anything vacuum related from them since they stopped selling the Motion Sync uprights and canisters at Sears. |

Maybe it might just be my area, or the ads just are becoming less frequent. Maybe it was because of the holidays too.
Right now I get a few hardware stores, Target, off and on Walmart that have vac ads. One time my food supermarket randomly had a Dirt Devil Jaguar on sale in their ad, which was unexpected (I also seen the vacuum in-store), that was a surprise. |

I also like to look at the Ads, but unless you have a Vacuum Dealer or Store most of the box store stuff is junk.
If people are looking for an inexpensive vacuum I always refer them to the Bissell bagged it is around 49.00 in most stores here. Otherwise I recommend, Kirby, Aerus or Riccar as those are the three easily purchased here in town. I have never used a Riccar but believe they are a quality built machine. Oreck was in town but no longer and for some folks they are a great answer. Sears left town and that was always my first pick for a canister vacuum that is affordable. |
