Greetings from the Missouri Ozarks...

First time posting to this forum as I did not see an answer for what has become a small nuisance. I ordered a new separator for my Rainbow D3C from EZVacuums and was sent in incorrect item. They made good & sent me the correct separator and now it seems that the thing doesn't fit right! When I hand-tighten the brass acorn nut, the separator pushes down (or up if the vacuum is in its upright position) on the rim and the separator won't turn! Now I have a big nuisance! Am I missing a washer or sleeve or spacer that is needed to give the separator a little room when tightened? Anyone with some experience on this issue? Thank you.

Norm

I'd rather be playing my banjo!

I'm guessing on top of fan below separator would be a spacer. I'm not sure how big but there is a spacer you are missing.

1. The flange ring could have corrosion on it which would rub up against the separator or the spider underneath.

2. The Flange ring could be warped.

3. The D3C had two different separators, one had a bevel to match the bevel on the brass nut, the other had a flat hole to match the nut without the bevel.

4. Are you sure the separator is for the D3C? The D4C looks similar but is different.

After looking at the pictures you have the D3C separator, so disregard Number 4 of my previous response.

If you need any help with it, I am right here in Rolla. You simply need to replace the flange ring and the spider wheel. Then all will be good.
