Hello everyone, I haven't been active in the Vacuumland website lately, but I would like to inform you all that at my home, we have a new cleaner.

It's a bagless Bissell canister. My brother who lives with me ordered the item on Amazon and it was delivered to our home last week. We really lost trust with our Dirt Devil canister and it got tossed into the bin. My brother chose a bagless model because he wanted to save money by not having to buy bags and was concerned about the availability of compatible bags for models that require them in our neighbourhood.

So we used our new Bissell and, while we couldn't use an electric nozzle with it because of the lack of a PN port, it cleaned better than the Dirt Devil canister. The Bissell uses 1 1/4 in. accessories. One complaint about the model is that when I use it to clean carpets or bare floors, the wand sometimes detaches itself from the hose which is somewhat annoying. The Dirt Devil hose does fit with the Bissell canister and there was no detachment issue with it.

So all in all, it's better than the Dirt Devil aside from the self-disconnection problem. My brother paid about $80 (most likely in Canadian dollars) for the Bissell. We don't have a large enough income to get a decent quality product like a Miele, a Sebo or an Aerus and my brother was against my idea of getting a pre-used Electrolux canister at the Chapman boutique, but we have to accept what we have.

You should be able to find many decent used vacuums for less than $80. If the wand constantly detaches from the hose, I'd send it back to Amazon for a refund and find something else. That shouldn't happen on a new machine. Also, many vacuums have inexpensive bags that can be bought online.

If I recall I seen a test with 6 vacuums. The Bissell zing by far the lowest price came in a close second. I seen the reviews and people are pleasantly surprised by how well it performs.
If you lived closer I'd send you a vacuum for free I have about 40. If you can remedy the handle I think you will grow to love this vacuum. It's light it's got power and if you keep hose unclogged clean filters it should serve you well.

You can also try this:

Pull about an inch or so of duct tape from the roll and tear it in half length wise. Then place a strip if that on the hose pipe that you put attachments on. It should help the attachments stay on better. You have to experiment with how much or how little you use. Don't put so much on that you have trouble pulling attachments off when through. Some tape is thicker than others so again you have to see what works. Don't use clear plastic tape. This is shade tree mechanics I know but it has worked for me. Hope this helps. Billy

I think it works in any room with a plug in. Idk maybe just keep it out of the bathroom. Ish could hit the fan. Pun intended.

Luxkid1980, it's up to my brother to decide if we keep or get rid of our Bissell.

Lesinutah, thanks for your offer!

Kirbyklekter, thanks for your advice!

Peggydyer, I don't think our machine's made for wet spills,
