Well I found a beautiful 882 on ebay. Its from 1992, green, and with shipping should put me about $140.00.

It really is in fantastic condition. Looks like it hasn't been sitting in a closet past 20+ years.

I'm thinking about it. Any reasons not to get it?

I mean, when does it stop? When is enough, enough?

Anything special about a 882 that I should know or avoid?

I believe it's a 6 amp motor. I have a few royals I have a burgundy one that is also 6 amp. I would have bought a similar vacuum to yours had I not had burgundy 6 amp. I have a blue 7.5 amp and the 10.5 red/burgundy royal. I have 2 880s both 4.5 amps. I have one made month and year I was born and one I bought it's full set of attachments and is the best 880 you will see. I hope the one with my birthday month rivals it when I'm done with it.
1st pic is pimped out one 2nd pic is my future pimped out one.
Les

If you have the money and you really want and think it's so nice it's worth it go for it. They are built like tanks and easy to repair and get parts for. Otherwise wait and watch Craigslist and like that and eventually a better deal on something similar will show up. I bought a 4650 canister for 25 in nice shape needing a new hose but still working when I bought this house in about 2013, and somewhat more recently I found a Starks/Royal 5700 upright for free on Craigslist including a bunch of bags and belts working fine. I see them frequently for 20 to 50 bucks and really nice ones for around 100.

I found a video of an 882 on YouTube. It seems like a great Royal.
