I was so  excited to start using something I'd been keeping unused and finally enjoy it's feel and performance: a never used DeepClean powerhead.. brand new from unboxed UltraCaptic! I still keep the Vacuum body itself unused as an art piece, and as an example an of their height -as Eureka division line- of engineered nice machines, it really is perfect in micro-filtration.. and of course, returned the favor (unsanitary-wise) when emptied. Yes, I'm a convert to the benefits of a good hepa bag that self seals.

Anyway, I used the new DeepClean on my UltraFlex only two other times before which has the same exact wand connection and fit, but I couldn't turn it on the third time I used the machine... it is completely electrically dead right now.  Aaarrgh!

It will not power on at the handle switch power button.... I'm so bummed out, I was really impressed with the deepclean's actual ability to clean deeper and better than the BrushrollClean powerhead that replaced it.  I checked hose and body connection and wand connection, and used the BrushrollClean which ran.. so it's not that there's no power in the hose or wand.

It was bought on ebay so I still have the Ultracaptic and hose and tools and wand, so I'm good there, but still... it sucks, a little!

I thought the DeepClean was more reliable than the BrushrollClean.  There's no pop up fuse reset button or anything like on a classic lux, and even then -  its a circuit board, I'm sure, because on the top it has height level LEDs and also a brush alert light.. so those are both out also.. so I'm sure it's something else.  But, what?

Please help.

Thanks,

Bill

Dirty connector pins? Not fully seated into the slot?

I would check the neck and then the PCB. Is it under warranty?

Here is what is inside.

Alex, did you not read Bill's sentence there where he says the UltraCaptic was bought on Ebay? I highly doubt they will warranty it unless it was a dealer authorized to sell on Ebay.

Bill, I would suggest taking the entire powerhead in to a vac shop & have it checked out. I would be willing to bet it's most likely the powerhead neck at fault. You could also contact Electrolux directly if it was bought from a dealer & you have proof of purchase, explain the situation to them & see if they will authorize a complete replacement powerhead. You have a strong case for it considering it failed so early on with hardly any usage.

Bill, nearly forgot one little thing. Did you try swapping out the wand from the UltraCaptic with the wand from the UltraFlex, & rule out the wand as the source of the problem? It could also be a dead wand.

Great ideas!

Alex, thanks for the video!

Rob, I have a good down to earth old school vac repairman who I can show it to.  Also, I know there's power to the wand and handle because when the DeepClean failed, then I attached the BrushRollClean ot both the wand and handle and it was powered up.. so it must be in the DeepClean somewhere.
