That sounds about right from what I was hearing at the VDTA .
They're trying to consolidate products and make the individual brands stand out. Think of it how GM is no longer selling Pontiac but now focuses on Chevy and Cadillac. Why sell the same thing with four different names on it? I would say the high-end Simplicity's would now be even more desirable to add to a collection. |

Right, I am just wondering if I have to order from the website and pay retail, or will a vac store still be able to get one? Also will bags interchange and filters? |

In a way it makes sense. To have the exact same product only with a different color and brand on it seems redundant. I wonder if the Simplicity Wonder will be discontinued and only the Riccar Prima will remain? Mike |

On the Riccar web site the TOL Prima Power Team With Premium Tandem Air Nozzle go for $1399.99
(www.riccar.com/product/pr...) The TOL Simplicity (same Wonder Premium Canister with Tandem Air Nozzle) retails for $1399.95 but discounted to $1199.99. (simplicityvac.com/product/wonder...) Why the difference on price for the same vacuum? |

From what I remember hearing the Wonder premium is being discontinued the Prima premium will remain though. With simplicity becoming the retail oriented brand some of their models are being discontinued. There are some other models being cut too like the S30P Synchrony Premium which the only real differrence between the S30D and S30P was an extra year warranty and a charcoal filter. Or the S10D which had a metal brushroll but used a stretch belt. The S20 line I think had the most cuts but I can't remember all of them.

The Tacony Factory Outlet Store recently received some of the last Synergy models. At least we will have them for a while to still sell. When models are discontinued, the factory outlet store gets them. There are still Fuller Brush models as well, new in the box, at the Outlet Store.
The Synergy as well as the Synchrony line have been discontinued, as well as the S40 series (the 'new' Synergy) and the S30 series (the 'new' Synchrony). Riccar remains a 'dealer ONLY' line. The Wonder has been discontinued. The Prima remains. The only canister in the Simplicity lineup is the pink compact "Jill". I think it's cool that dealers can order the Simplicity line to carry in their stores as a lower priced lineup for customers on a budget. To be honest, the Chinese-built bagless multi-cyclonic (now labeled Simplicity - used to be Fuller Brush) has proven to be a good machine. The bagged version is quite good as well. I think it will prove to be a good move by Tacony. |

I will miss Simplicity's high end vacuums but at the same time, I really excited about this move. I'm also really excited about the new R30 and R40 series that was just released earlier this year, they now use the same bag and hood covers that the Synchronies and Synergies have used, and I love the new colors on them.
The Simplicity S10E, S20E, and S10VC will still be assembled here in the states, everything else is overseas. |
