I saw one of these on Ebay for a song and a dance that was brand new, but missing the lower cord hook. I bought it for my place of work (a bank, as you may have guessed) and wanted to talk about it a bit. In short, it's a Sanitaire in a classy black and silver color scheme. The brush roll is very soft, which made me doubt I had it adjusted properly! I'm just used to vacuums that really vibrate the floor. This machine should be very gentle on carpet. My work has short, commercial carpet as you would expect.
The thing that prompted me to really write this post is that I ordered a whole pile of bags. I cut one apart and found it was a five layer bag. They should be excellent HEPA bags and are the same as Hoover Type A and Royal Type B. They also have a rubber gasket/seal. $20 for a six pack and you can get 36 for $90. I think you get a nice little box if you order 6, but if you get, say, 18 like me, they send a bulk shipping bag. No complaints really. Have any of you used this machine or the bags?

LOL 'Bank Robber' XD
That's pretty good. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like every single one of their vacs is a clone / rebranded other vac. The BTO looks like an Oreck. Not that I'm complaining, it looks like they cherry-picked the good ones. Also, pretty clever, buying a 'The Bank' vacuum for use in an actual bank. |

I think they are al re-brands. But, are they all good machines? I don't know. It was a lovely choice for the branch. The cleaning crew stopped bringing their vacuum and started using it. They have an old Hoover wind tunnel bagged machine. The same kind you would have had in your home.
Maybe I should have got he Bank Robber....

These are cool. They are produced by the company “Perfect,” who also once made the (very similar) commercial vacuums for Oreck and currently make the Bissell Commercial models. It is my understanding that Perfect is a competitor of Sanitaire. What is interesting is that Bissell recently purchased Sanitaire, so right now they are selling a) true Sanitaires, and b) a Bissell-branded vacuum made by Perfect, their (maybe?) competitor. Sounds like a complicated relationship!
Nevertheless, the Perfect-built units seem very nice. I can’t find fault with them. |
