Francois, yes it's possible a wire isn't connected properly, but it's much more likely that the field coil wires in the motor that make the motor run on high speed burn out. This isn't the only canister motor known to do this - Kenmore 4.5 canisters with the high-low switch & Filter Queen & TriStar canisters with the high-low switch also burn out on the high speed, because it's used most often.
I would replace the motor, & have the repair shop replace it with a single speed motor. That way, it won't burn out like this again, & the speed control isn't even needed on a Electrolux since it has a bleeder valve on the hose anyways. Rob |
