Upright Vacuum for Garage?

I'm curious, does anybody use an upright vacuum in their garage if it has rugs and/or carpeting?

Here's my situation: I have 2 large female dogs; one is a Labrador/Chow mix, and the other is a Beagle/Rottweiler mix. They both reside in the garage most of the day and go outside as needed. We have a large, dark rug, along with a runner between the garage and their area. These girls shed quite a lot, and when I use one of my vacuums on these rugs, the canister fills up VERY quickly, and parts of the vacuum get dark and dirty from their hair and dander. I have to clean up said vacuum after using it on that rug.

I currently own 3 vacuums: a Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Lift-Off, a Dyson DC07 Animal and a Fantom Fury 12 Amp. I don't want to use the Bissell in the garage for the reason I mentioned above. The Dyson is overrated, and the Fantom is more of a collectible due to a lack of power, along with the Fantom company being out of business.

I used the Dyson today, as I have relegated it to the garage. Problem is, while it works, the brush bar tangles VERY quickly, and the so-called "lifetime" HEPA filter, which was replaced nearly a year ago, is setting off my allergies.

So I'm considering selling the Dyson and replacing it with a significantly cheaper upright specifically for the garage, such as one that's around $50. What do you recommend?

Checkrate/Likes I have a two-car oversized garage that is carpeted. It helps keep the house cleaner in that it catches the schmutz from our shoes and any dust that may leak in during windy weather. It also makes it easy to keep the garage clean. With that said, I use a Kirby Sentria to vacuum it with the HEPA bag. It does a great job grooming the carpet and keeping dust leakage to a minimum. I bought it on Craig's list about 10 years ago for about $100 and it needed a minor part to get it working perfectly. It wasn't even that old and they sold it because it was not working. (Duh....) IMO, Kirby's are nearly indestructible and used ones are all over ebay for a variety of prices. For me, it was the perfect fit to keep the garage carpet clean for a low cost and a good job. Even in the fall when leaves blow in, it eats them like a garbage disposer!

Checkrate/Likes I use my old Eureka Dial-A-Nap ESP upright with steel VG2 brush roller & micro-lined F&G bags (mine's gold/beige color & has rotary height adjustment knob) I cant believe how much sand & dirt had been under the carpeted entryway! For yrs I've been using my Ridgid WD0670 shop vac or Electrolux 1205 with PN1 or Compact C9 with straight suction metal rug tool

Checkrate/Likes If your budget is 50$, why not hit up the swap meets and get something that originally sold for 150$ or so... many times there's deals to be had if it's not brand new.

Checkrate/Likes Honestly I think a canister or a shop vac with a power nozzle would be better for an environment like a garage that might have large debris, etc. Though I take it from your profile you only like uprights though.
