Last month, I bought a telescoping wand and a PN, bottom tube was a bit crooked but I figured the price was fair enough just for the PN.

I opened it this afternoon to clean it, man, it was a lot worse than I expected in there(see pictures). I can't imagine what they did with that machine.

After a good hour of cleaning I put it all back together and gave it a try in my basement. I'm amazed with how strong it is. I wouldn't have thought I'd say that, but I like that front light, specially in the basement. I think I will enjoy using it either with my E200 or my SuperJ.

I think that's a sign sometimes of vacuuming wet dust. But the motor isn't rusted so who knows. It is satisfying to clean up a dirty vacuum, or power nozzle in this case isn't it?

I've seen this before if people pick up chalky-type dust with a vacuum, or they used it to vacuum a sun room or patio. My old Eureka ESP when I had 2 cat litter boxes looked like this in the brushroll chamber.

Yeah, satisying is the word, I was very pleased with the result.

EEEWW! Unfortunately, I see this all the time at the Aerus dealership where I help out. Usually, this occurs because the customer has been vacuuming damp carpeting, but sometimes it's dog fur and dander that clumps together due to the oils in the dog's fur. Usually, an S.O.S pad, some dish soap, a toothbrush, and a bit of time is all it takes to get these nozzles looking brand new.

Yeah a bit of time and elbow grease, you know, you need grease to remove grease, said my grandfather!

That will cleanup nicely.
FYI, LED is a nice upgrade to a PN.

Sven, I don't know a lot about LEd but it seems to be very bright ! Is it a simple upgrade?

I got a Rainbow SE that had a power nozzle with even more crud caked on it. THAT happens when people are vacuuming wet/damp messes with it. It could have been used to vac up after shampooing carpets (by someone very impatient)

The LED bulb is plug an play.
Very easy to upgrade. It has been a few years now, but this is what was ordered:
