This evening my friend Chris Rini stopped by with two Hoover Pixies that belonged to his mother. His father made the lovely wooden carrying case.

Both are in very nice condition. I've never had a Pixie before. They're cute and fun but pretty wimpy in the suction department.

Thanks, Chris! smile

They are a "Handivac" without the handle.
I use them all over the house. Love them.

I've got a couple of Hoover QuikBroom stick vacs from the mid '80s that clearly evolved from the Pixie. They're handy for quick cleanups on hard floors but absolutely useless on carpets.

True, carpets aren't their best subject.

Hardwood flooring, sheet goods (vinyl), and especially ceramic tile clean very well. I used to remove the handle, attach the tools, and attack the staircase, even the car. The bag is also very easy to remove/change.
I have both the long and short versions. I do have several actual Pixies..with the cardboard caddies.

I have one of the blue stick vacs. I think it's the short one. The metal handle (similar to Convertible) and the floor tool both attach to the body with that plastic ring lock system. Mine must be late 70s/early 80s, it doesn't have the date code in the serial number.

Mine looks mint but didn't come with a bag so I never used it - not an easy bag to find here.

Those Pixies look nice. :)
