I recently picked up a Anniversary edition Electrolux B8, I'm looking to use Johnsons Paste wax to wax my floors. I looked in the manual, but it just recommends using Electrolux polish. Id like to use the B8 to apply the polish not just buff it, are the green pads good for applying the wax, or should I just use lambs wool pads to apply it too?

B-8

I would mostly follow the B-8 instruction book for the steps after wax is on floor.Elux wood floor wax is a thick liquid that can be sprayed on and I have used with good results.Johnsons is also exellent.I have used green pads to both apply wax and have some dirt lifted on them(wash after). Then buff with brush only(also washable/do not store on polisher). And use lambs wool pads only for final polishing. As with most polishing/shampooing it can be good to test in a small area or closet until you get a procedure you are happy with.
Johnsons Wax--Is an interesting business/family story with trips to South America for raw supplies, great promotion/adverting with artists and graphic designers,buildings/homes by Frank Lloyd Wright, custom motor homes by Brooks Stevens, etc.

The best way to apply paste wax with the B8 polisher is to purchase a set of steel wool pads, can still be found at an old time hardware store or maybe a good vacuum store will order them for you. Put the 3 steel wool pads on the brown hard brushes with the proper snap, get an old teaspoon or a 1"wide putty knife and put a few pats of wax on each steel wool pad. Work the wax into the floor with the B8 so it puts down a smooth even coat of wax. Do an area of about 10' by 10', let it dry, than remove the steel wool pads from the brushes and buff the wax with just the brushes, after you remove the wax put either the lambs wool pads or the disposable white pads on the brown brushes again and buff to a high shine. You will be amazed from the results.
