We all know how friends can be on the look out, or just notice and mention? Well my best buddy, her mom was helping with a clean out and was going to donate to a thrift store, she grabbed it for me. Guessing 80s from the color, burgundy, bare bones model sold by Wards, at first she thought it was Eureka, nope, by Hoover, tools too. Should be here tomorrow, will update. I guess the child of the Convertible? NO headlight and I think she said 3 height adjustments, said it looked good.

It's a solid find. Montgomery ward version. It says steel agitator. Funny it will Outlast most vacuums today. Nice job.

I guess so you could know you were getting a quality made product at a lower price? I mean Montgomery Wards cheapened them down, but still.

Good find! I hope to own a department store vac some day. They are rarer then you would think, I've yet to find even the most common ones.

Likely be going in another 40 years, figure late 70s so that's 40 now. Guessing the label on the bottom decodes like any Hoover of said vintage.

Low production number...this was before they instituted the date codes. I would guess early 80s.

Hey hey nice Montgomery Hoover! It's my impression that these MW Hoovers are pretty hard to come by. The "Ranger" style hood is my favorite Hoover ever put on the convertible, and those 5 amp motors are smooth as silk when properly lubricated.

Thanks for sharing!
