So when I went to clean out the hose on my 2018 Bissell PowerForce Helix, I found these little teeth inside of the hose. Now, these were up in the hose coupling end, and it looks like they would catch hair and cause a clog quite easily, causing premature motor failure. Is this a deliberate attempt by Bissell to make their vacuums have a shorter life so that they can sell you a new one quicker? Please discuss!

Well it might just be a byproduct of the manufacturing process.

Or, maybe they want it to catch hair there, instead of in the middle of the hose, or someplace else that wouldn't be as easily noticed when looking for a clog.

I don’t think it was a manufacturing defect. They look and feel like they were designed to be there. Also, having a part in the hose to catch hair seems like a bad idea in general.
