Some women at work were talking about a newer YouTube craze - "Clean with Me" videos. Naturally, I had to check these out. Watching these videos I was shocked at the number of people who are cleaning their homes top to bottom using cordless stick vacs. Every now and then you'll see a corded Shark upright but rarely will you see someone using a quality vacuum such as a Tacony or Miele machine. While I do like my Dyson cordless I know it doesn't have the power to truly deep clean my rugs. Some of these women seem to be using them as their sole machines. Has anyone else seen these videos?

Of the 14 homes I clean on various schedules each month, half have cordless Dysons, one has the cheapest Shark and the others have various machines, all cheap or Orecks. Oe has no machine as she say's that's what I'm there for! She say's I came with the house...more or less true!

I mean, I can't say for certain, but it's probably just a high percentage of the people making those particular videos that use cordless vacs, not necessarily a high percentage of homemakers in general. Then again, maybe the cordless craze is the new bagless craze. It's just a fad (not that I'm saying it's likely to end).

My guess is most people into YouTube and stuff probably like techy things or maybe nerdy things. Cordless Dysons and things like that appeal to people with those interests.

Also I doubt the majority of people these days buy high end vacuums. For most a Big Box plastic upright or stick vac is more than enough when they need to use a vacuum.

Also I hate the word and stereotype but yes a lot of millenials (I fit in that age group) don't seem to care about cleaning or vacuum cleaners or that sort of thing.
