Hello, My name is Kevin and I'm new to the forum. I recently purchased a D80 and the spring for the handle is not working. I pulled the four screws that hold the shroud on around the motor but the shroud would not come off. I'm guessing there may be a clip or something holding it on? I would rather ask than to force it. Can anyone tell me what is keeping the shroud from coming off?
Thank you in advance,
Kevin

Your close.
The green power button pull up. Once that's off you can get rear housing off.

While checking spring maybe check make sure carbon brushes are good.
The carbon brushes are in black housing. They have a silver clip holding them to housing. The plastic clear caps come off. Then there is a green wire and a black wire. The end of wires is a v clipped item you push those out the sides.
I could tell you more but one at a time. Don't mess with electrical power switch. There touchy little suckers.
Good luck.
Les
