So I have an interesting topic to talk about. I noticed some interesting things about the model 858 Hoover Constellation. There are like 3 different colors of this model. Orange, yellow, and green. Anybody knows about this particular model?

This thread has some info. It seems the first 858 was the pumpkin with seal greige, then pumpkin with medium taupe and later poppy red on top in 1974. Not sure where the green fits in but apparently the last Canadian Constellations had lime green (model 888).
I noticed some pumpkin 858 have "60 cycles" on the bottom rating plate, where later ones read "60 hertz" instead. CLICK HERE TO GO TO fan-of-fans's LINK | ||

Cycles and Hertz are the same thing. 60Hz is our modern electrical US standard for 120 volts. It's like 2 cycle and 2 stroke in oil mix engines...... Kevin | ||

Yes, Hertz literally means "Cycles per Second". It was one of the few US standard measurements that changed to System International/metric system during the early-mid 70s. Hence you see the change on items dating around that time. You can still sometimes find equipment sold these days using the "cycles" term, especially in industrial or commercial settings.
