Hello everyone so today I made an absolute score and found a Dirt Devil Deluxe, how ever upon getting it I noticed the bag door is cracked, I tried some rtv gasker maker, which works fine and I can wipe off soon, it still implodes on itself partially, so it’s good for temporary but I could use a new cover, it has to be the same red and black bag door, if anyone could help that would be absolutely amazing ! Please help this is one of my favorite machines of all time !

My recommendation: If you cannot find a new bag door, repair the one you have with JB Weld epoxy (the original formulation). The stuff is literally tough as nails.
How I would repair it: 1. Rough up the inner surface of the bag door with a course sand paper. This will make the epoxy adhere better. 2. Prep the surface for epoxy with a little bit of rubbing alcohol on a towel. It is imperative that the surface is free from dust, sanding debris, or oil, such as a fingerprint. 3. Apply the epoxy liberally over the crack and surrounding area. You can put it on thick and ugly like frosting without worry since this will be inside the bag door, after all. Good luck! Let us know what you figure out. |
