what's going on with Kirby HEPA bags? |

I noticed this and spoke with my local Kirby technician as he brought it up to me too.... The cloth HEPA vacuum bags seem to be thinner now....and the rating of H11 was removed from the screen printing on the bags. The euro rated high HEPA flow H13 (was red print, think its green now) still states the HEPA rating. One wonders if they are outsourced to China....and perhaps there is a connection between the removal of the rating....and the thinness of the bags. Anyone have any info on this? Or observe this or disagree?

I don’t remember the details, but the last time I went to the Kirby dealer, we had a similar discussion.
I think Kirby now makes fleece universal bags only. No more paper bags. Of the fleece bags, you can choose between non-HEPA and HEPA—blue printing and green printing, respectively—and the odor fighting charcoal bags. Naturally, the HEPA bag needs more layers to earn the cert, and this makes them pricier. The buyer chooses a bag type depending on how much he/she is willing to spend. I would be shocked if Kirby still produces any of the old bags: anything paper, or the fleece bags with black or red writing, etc. I’m sure there are plenty NOS older bags still around, but I’m doubtful that they are still produced. Any of the Kirby "Filtrte" style bags I have now are made in China.when did the thinner bags come out?The last time I bought Kirby bags was a year ago. | ||

They've alway switch back and forth between China and the US since I can remember.
The micron magic g4 bags have always been inconsistent. I don't think it would be possible to get an h13 rating out of just a bag. They did have that high filtration marked with a " red package "for a while but it was discontinued last time I looked at my wholesale distributor. | ||
