the pn1 and 2 3 4 are electrolux power nozzle
the number indicates the model number.
PN1(pn 2 pn3 pn4 ) whit a 2 pin is for residential vacuum dry pick up only
now a pn whita 3 pin plug is a extra ground wire for WET pick up like rainbow or electrolux cb 200 wet dry kit correct me if im wrong

I just have the eureka blue power nozzle and compact. I just didn't understand what the different numbers were.

Just because a PN has a 3 prong plug, does not mean it is for wet pick up. A Power head should not be used for wet pick unless specifically made for wet pick up. For example Rinse N Vac carpet cleaning systems, or the old kenmore and bissell big green power teams.

But if you want to try and use a 3 prong power head for wet pickup please Record it and post it to YouTube.

The older D2 rainbow (eureka) heads were grounded due to the PN motor being all metal and The rainbow housing being all metal itself. When Rainbow went to the D3 model some of the very early power heads (rexair) were 3 prong and then they switched to the 2 prong.

Can compact work with rainbow 2 prong powerhead for dry pick up.
I'm going to assume you can but would it not be effective as there meant for wet pick up.

NO rainbow had a separate hose for wet pick ups the power head was only for dry pick up.

Compact power head plug wont work on rexair rainbow since rainbow use a 3 prong plug and compact a 2 pin plug .

If you’re talking about Aerus Electrolux power nozzles, the two pronged power nozzles were for the residential canisters, and the three pronged nozzles were for the CB line.
