I don't know if the the bags are just garbage or if I got a bad batch and they're leaking but they're just SPEWING dust out. Just look how the fabric bag and inside looks from just one 1/4 filled bag.

Anyway, does anyone know if any 3rd party brands like FilterBuy or Filtire are any better?

What year is they from? Keep in mind these came out at least 20+ years ago. All there was was paper bags.

I might be wrong but isn't there supposed to be an adapter thing to use paper bags? I have a bunch of DD hand vacs and I think a couple of them have paper bags in them from the previous owners, I'll have to check. I never used bags with mine personally.

Dirt Devil hand vacs do spew an insane amount of dust when used in the shake out bag configuration. Even with the disposable bags, it will still leak a little bit of dust.

Its Dirt Devil Ultra (Kinda cheap but it's a fun little vac) that was made around 2017 so it definitely made to use bags.
I mean I'm expecting HEPA filtration but this is little crazy to where inside the outer bag has light coating of dust.

I wasn't aware they still made this vacuum! Wow! This vacuum originally came out in the late 90's, so keep in mind it's got the same nuances and issues vacuums had back then.

Yep, it's got wooden (not hardwood) brush roll and its pretty powerful too!

I mean there were few questionable decisions they made when redesigning it from the Original HandVac but it's still pretty good. It would great if someone made better bags for it because I don't see no reason why it wouldn't work with better filtering bags provided they're not too thick.

What you're experiencing using these bags in your Dirt Devil hand vacuum is normal. Those bags are plain paper bags with no micro-filtration lining, so it is normal for them to hold the dirt but spew dust into the outer bag.

I highly doubt there would be a micro-filtration or HEPA Cloth bag made for this Dirt Devil. Most aftermarket brands tend to offer the same style of bag the cleaner was originally sold with & meant to use. If you want to upgrade it to a HEPA Cloth bag, what you will have to do is find a long, skinny bag, cut to length, line the outer cloth bag with the HEPA Cloth bag & then install the outer bag onto the vacuum. Same idea as what I do with my TriStar CXL, line the support bag with a Kenmore 5055 HEPA Cloth bag, or like what Tom Gasko suggests to do with Airway/Vita Vac canisters, line the bag chamber with a Simplicity Freedom F bag & use the plastic bag top.

Hope this helps you out, & whatever bag you use, make sure you post here what style of HEPA Cloth bag you used. I'm sure a LOT of Dirt Devil handvac owners that use bags would appreciate knowing that info.

Rob

One thing I was surprised to learn about these is Dirt Devil used to sell a separate attachment kit. I saw it in a brochure on here. Not sure if they still sell it. I don't think the hose on these had much suction but it was interesting they offered other attachments than the crevice tool.
