Every now and then I check to see what is new on QVC or HSN in the vacuum section - Now that the two are one big happy family, everything is usually the same on both websites...
.
But today when I checked, evidently QVC is now selling the Kenmore line - Same uprights and canisters, but in what appears to be QVC only colors -
.
Does anyone know when this started?
Poor Eddie Lampert is really grasping at straws...
I wonder if Cleva will sell them under their own name, or someone else's ones Sears finally closes the doors...
.

Interesting. The light blue 200 is really Sears' 400 in red. The blue 600 is the same as Sears' 600 in purple. The red 600 is really a Kenmore Elite 800 series Ultra Plush PN mated to a 700 series canister instead of the 800 canister.

The uprights look basically like Sears' Progressive bagless, Elite Crossover and Crossover Max, and Elite bagged models but different colors as well as their stick vacs.

The Kenmore vacuums have been sold at Amazon for a while now.

Cleva also sells the 3rd gen Progressive canisters (final Panasonic design) under the Titan name at some vacuum shops. One is mated to a regular PN and one has the Ultra Plush PN.

Wow Dan...

QVC must have added all those recently as I typically have been trolling HSN and QVC as I always take advantage of their 6 flex pays on more expensive vacuums so I can buy more all at once. Lol

I had not seen these lovely Kenmore vacuums but I might have missed them the last time I was searching vacuums online. But wow they are pretty and I like the colors available BUT I miss all the extra features my Kenmore Elite as all these uprights appear to be the lesser featured models. I wish they would be better on descriptions and details as they don’t list features or accessories, etc.

Anyhow, I thought it was cool to see them on QVC and thought I would post pictures of some of my Kenmore vacuums that are similar to the ones they are selling.

Can anyone explain or share information with me as to what Sears is supposed to be doing regarding their name branded vacuums?? I still see these “Cleva” (is that correct) brand vacuums in our local Sears and they don’t have anything new except for the stick vacuums similar to Dyson, Not the ones that are the design with the attached dust buster type vacuum, I have that one too.

Thanks,
Patrick

Hmm, I just had a look and noticed that. Since they sell those Crossover uprights in two colors, I figured one would be the fancier model with the LED headlights, but they both look the same to me, so not sure what the difference is.

As for the Kenmore vacuums in Sears stores, I don't know that they have any plans. The 200, 400, 600 series were new designs that Cleva came up with, so they've been out maybe two or three years. The 700 and 800 series are the same as the last of the Panasonic made units, as are the uprights. So those have probably been out since around 2013-14.

My guess is we may not see any new Kenmore models at this point... I doubt Sears sells that many vacuums now, being so many stores have closed, and most people probably go to Walmart or Bed Bath and Beyond if they're looking for vacuums at this price point.

Which is a shame, because I like Sears' vacuum department way better than those other stores, and its nice to have variety in this day and age. Not just Dyson, Bissell, Hoover, Shark everything. But, these days people are after techy stuff and Sears hasn't made any effort to bring robotic vacuums into their vacuum selection. They sell some decent Hoover and Bissell bagless uprights which might bring in buyers looking for something cheaper, and they do sell Shark. But they stopped selling Dysons and Samsungs some time ago, which causes them to lose buyers to those stores.

My guess is we may continue to see Kenmore vacuums brought into other retailers. They may even end up at Lowes or other big box stores, which would be nice, and get them more exposure, since more people probably shop there.

If Sears goes out of business, my guess is Cleva will sell more of the Kenmore vacuums under their own brands. You'll notice none of their Titan brand vacuums use the same body as the Kenmores. I think this is part of some agreement they had under their contract with Sears, that the vacuums have to look different.

The cordless stick vacs are an interesting item, I guess Sears was trying to lure some buyers that were looking at Dyson stick vacs, etc. But I would be surprised if they sell many. Then again, with them being on Amazon, it's possible.

The Kenmore Pet Friendly Crossover Bagless upright Model 31220 is one of the highest rated bagless uprights in Consumer Reports - rated just under two Dyson models. Better than any of the Shark LiftAways. Here is a summary of CR’s take:

“Overall this is a Very Good upright vacuum cleaner. It did a very good job removing embedded dirt from carpets. When cleaning surfaces such as kitchen and hardwood floors, this model was an Excellent performer. Its impressive pet-hair pickup is a benefit for dog and cat owners. This model was judged Good for handling and weighs 18 pounds. This model has impressive suction through the hose when cleaning with tools. The wand can conveniently be released from the vacuum with or without the floor tool attached. It also has a detachable canister for portability when using the tools.”

qvc and hsn

I never knew that those two companies merged, interesting.
I have a Panasonic mccg902 which I think may have been one of their last designs. I know the 937 was also a good model so I'm assuming the Tyten models were similar to these. The last Kenmore canisters I have seen in the Sears stores use a nonstandard hose end, it's kind of a square shape, I'm not sure if the current designs still use that if the standard round hose end is used now, I try to avoid nonstandard hose ends.

The Kenmore 600 bagged series and 700 and 800 bagged Elite canisters still use the odd square hose end, but they stopped using the horse hoof dusting brush and now use a normal rectangular brush with thick horsehair bristles that stores in the canister. The 200 and 400 bagged, and 600 bagless series use the typical metal hose end so can use any 1-1/4" attachments on the hose or wand.

The Titan canister bodies are based on the 3rd gen Kenmore Progressives which I don't think Panasonic ever had their own model of. They were discontinued from the Sears lineup after Cleva took over and replaced by the 600 bagged. So I guess they recycled that design since Sears doesn't sell them now.

Unfortunately the Panasonic MCG902 and 327 I believe were stopped after Panasonic sold to Cleva. The MCG902 was actually the original Kenmore Progressive from the late 90s/early 2000s. They would tend to take the older Kenmore models and sell them under their own name, similar to what Cleva is doing.

My very best guess with Kenmore in the future would likely be the same fate as Craftsman when Sears ended up selling the brand. It wouldn't surprise me if that ever does happen and in my opinion I think it would also be a very good business decision too because just like Craftsman, we could maybe finally see more Kenmores sold in other stores including more exclusive models from like Home Depot for example.

difference between bagged series

Does anyone know what the differences are between the 200, 400, 600, and 800 series? I'm assuming with each higher series number they have more features but not sure.

The 200 and 400 series basically replaced the lime green and tangerine orange BOL models that Panasonic used to make for Sears.

The 200 series has a fixed two piece wand and no quick disconnect on the PN. The main power switch is on the canister and it has a pull to rewind cord instead of the pedal type. There is a brushroll on/off switch on the handle though. It has a dusting brush and crevice tool that store on the wand and a small floor brush on the canister. That's it, no air powered handimate tool. It also doesn't have a full bag indicator.

The 400 series adds a telescoping wand and quick disconnect PN, plus a handimate tool, and full bag indicator. It also has a push to rewind cord and off-floor-carpet switch on handle.

The 600 series I think seems to have replaced the 3 Progressive models Panasonic made. It has a Pop N Go floor brush, which is really the last Progressive floor brush, which stores in a compartment at the back. It also has a nicer horsehair dusting brush, crevice tool and the Pet Powermate that store in another compartment. It has the quick release PN, telescopic wand and a variable speed motor. As well as a check bag light.

The 700 Elite series is the same as the one Panasonic made. It has a longer hose, horsehair dusting brush and a horsehair ceiling fan brush, plus crevice tool and Pet Powermate. The power nozzle has a docking floor brush like the blue Intuition used to have but reworked a bit, and it has dirt sensor lights on it, plus an LED headlight on the wand. It has swivel steering too.

The 800 Elite uses the same canister and hose as the 700 but it uses the UltraPlush power nozzle with dirt sensor lights and a headlight. It has a floor brush on board the canister.

The 200, 400, 600 use a PN without headlight that Cleva designed. The 700 and 800 are the same Panasonic designs but made by Cleva. Also the 200 and 400 come with paper bags, the others come with cloth HEPA bags.
