We have a Kirby dealership not far from where I live. Called the shop and asked about some vintage machines and the owner called me back last night. Really nice guy that has been in the business since the DS50 was new. Told me to come down to his shop and look at what he has and pick out what I want. I got a DS50, DS80 both in good running condition and an Omega that was freshly rebuilt. Also bought a Classic III, but it was in need of servicing, so they’re going to replace everything that needs to be for $25 and told me to pick it up Monday. Very happy with what I got...and he has plenty more that I’m for sure going to go back and get. He even has a Tradition with the headlight switch and a Wireless Vacuette.

sounds like a friendly guy. if his service charges are that cheap you probably got a good deal on the machines too. most shop owners know only collectors like the vintage machines and was probably happy to get rid of them and make a happy buck too.

A very friendly guy. He said the exact same thing. They usually only deal with G3 and newer models, but he was happy to sell me some old machines. He had one with a switch in the handle that I may be going back for on Monday.

Hey

Nice collection of vacuums in my opinion the 3 best suction carpet cleaning vacuums Kirby's ever made.
I noticed everyone who has spa treatment look a hell of a lot better before than my d80s. I have really rare d80 parts. The bodies of the vacuums get deep clean before I sand and polish them.
Im saying your vacuum is in good shape and been maintained. The d80 is Kirby's best deep cleaner. The d50 is basically same vacuum motor wise. It just wears tan instead of ovacado.

Thank you. Yes, much agreed. The Omega has always been my favorite and I have around 5 of them, but never can help but buy another one lol. The DS80, I have been looking for for a few years and no luck in finding one. The DS50 I really didn’t plan to find, it wasn’t one on my list to look for, but he had a bunch of them, so I had to have it as well. They’re not worth a fortune or anything, but I’m happy to have them. These machines deserve to continue on...how can future generations enjoy them if we don’t save them first?

that first photo doesn't look to have a DS50 in it....I see a Sanitronic VII . unless that vacuum has been modified ( no headlight cover light, different belt lifter....which would indicate a different motor ( same as all the 500 series basicallY)

Hey

He is right I noticed the pic last night it's either a 562 or a sanatronic 7. The hood is missing the Kirby logo and the belt lifter would be different. I noticed after I posted but was to tired to mention.
