Wondering if anybody knows where I can get the proper drive belt for this sweeper. She runs great, but the belt has become soft and won't get enough traction to drive the roller to pick up on carpet. Is suctioning, but mats down the carpet and the debris because the brush roller is moving very, very slowly. Have cleaned and greased it. I know I need to replace the belt. It is very loose, though does stay on the shaft. This one has a metal head and blue bag.

As an interim solution, you might try turning the drive-belt inside out. Showing a lesser-worn face against the roller.
I would try taping-up the roller, underneath the belt, with a strip of strong fibre duck tape.
Removing the roller until you source a new belt, would be better than having a slow-moving roller causing matting and heat on the driveshaft.

Laura,

Welcome to VacuumLand!

A new brush drive belt for your 85103 would be part no. 1-044260-001. And when installing a new one, make absolutely sure that the front of the belt is facing you (when you mount it on the motor shaft); installing it the wrong way will cause the belt to fall off the shaft when you power on your cleaner. The attached picture will show you the correct way the belt is installed.

Also, when remounting the brush roll, make certain that the arrows on both the brush roll and the rug plate line up/match.
