About how long would it take for a Miele FJM bag to fill up in a 2800 sq foot house with an even mix of hard floors and carpet that is vacuumed weekly? We have a dog, but he is hypoallergenic (minimal shedding), and generally, the house isn’t really dirty (were fairly good about taking off shoes). I’m just curious about how many boxes of bags I’ll go through in a year for a Miele c2 electro plus. Thanks!!

If you are worried about going thru lots of bags, I would not get a C2 Electro Plus or any Miele that uses the FJM bag. You should get a C1 or C3 canister that uses the GN bags instead. Especially considering you have a dog & you are cleaning a fairly large home.

My experience has been that, if I use a genuine Miele GN bag, my bags last me 4 to 6 weeks in my S5 Miele Callisto. Miele claims that a box of 4 bags lasts a year for the average household, but that is unrealistic. There's no way a bag is going to last 3 months.

If you go thru lots of bags, it might not hurt giving the generic Miele bags a try. My experience with them has been that they filter just fine....I don't see any dust in the bag chamber when I change bags. The only thing I have noticed is that the walls of the generic bags clog with dust & make the vacuum lose airflow a bit faster than the genuine Miele bags, but the generic bags are 5 layer material vs genuine Miele bags being 9 layer material. If you notice this, there's a easy remedy - take the bag outside, give it a good vigorous shake, re-install the bag & you should notice the vacuum's airflow is restored. Make sure you get bags that have a plastic bag collar, like the current style AirClean bag collar, or the previous Intensive Clean style bag collar. Bags with cardboard bag collars can bend & warp & cause dust & dirt to get into the bag chamber.

I have the larger GN bag on a C3, my house is ~2400SF, but about 65% hardwood floors. We have a small dog that sheds small hair, and not too much of it. My bags will last 2-3 months if I fill them pretty full, which Miele bags are definitely capable of.

I have a C2 Electroplus and bags last me around 2 months or so, I have a large shedding dog and two cats so there's plenty of hair and dirt.

There designed for one box to last in a home under 2000 square feet a whole year.

When I was using a s314 as my daily driver in a 1200 square foot apartment I was going through about 3 a year.

Fast forward to today and I am vacuuming my whole house 5000 square feet for a month with a s6000 . I am curious to see myself in this over use saturation.
