Yep open the vacuum,remove 3 ,
screws remove bumper ,
locate 3 grommets
undo the 3
and change cord
power nozzle receptacle white , to motor black , to cord white .
cord black to switch black .
power nozzle receptacle white to remaining wire to motor black, white to switch
anddd voila put 3 grommets tightly (make sure wires are all properly inserted no short ect) screw 3 grommet tight snug and put wires away from moving part aka Motor ect
put motor cord bumper and vacuum back together pray lol turn on and voila .

Also no weird noise no problem switch it on suction air flow is good did not get any hotter than usual and no smell maybe just a hint of dust smell but i think thats just due to me working on it and maybe dust flew in the air and power nozzle connected to the wand and hose plug in no problem all seem to work 100% again.

Now that you've opened yours you can see as I did how simple these machines are. Easy to repair and parts seem reasonable and available. I use mine and my Royal upright alot lately and they compliment each other.
