Getting ready to start making Thanksgiving dinner. As I have gotten older I find myself going back in time to when I was a kid.I have been collecting vintage appliances for a while now.

These are the ones that will be used to make my dinner.
Mom's 1950 Westinghouse roaster oven
Nesco oval roaster
Sunbeam burst of power hand mixer circa 1973
Sunbeam Mixmaster MM200 Chrome circa 1970
Hamilton Beach Electric knife avocado Early 70's
Sunbeam percolator introduced in 1955,the year I was born.

Great old products that still work like a charm!

Not surprised to hear they are still working good - they really do last.
I toasted a whole loaf of bread at my mom's today with her '68 Toastmaster - works like new still. I have a whole collection plus a chrome MixMaster as well.
Post a picture of the ensemble when you can - I like seeing those machines in daily action!
Have a very happy Thanksgiving!

Hi John

And Happy Thanksgiving!

I was born in 1967, and I find myself doing the same thing.
I like to have things around me that remind me of my youth, and what seemed like better times.

My mom had two of the items on your list.
A chrome Mixmaster, which is still in use.
And the Hamilton Beach/Scovill electric knife, which she gave to my older brother.

Both of those, along with a Sunbeam hand-held Mixmaster, with Burst of Power, are on my list to eventually own.
I keep going back and forth in my mind as to what color hand-held I want.
Green or gold.

And, like Rob said:
Please try to post a picture of your appliances. We love to see them!

Nice. I have a harvest gold Mixmaster stand mixer with dough hooks. It's not as nice as the chrome model, but I like it.

Plus I have a 3 speed Mixmaster hand mixer, in avocado. It's quiet and a nice mixer for an entry level model.

Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving,

A few years ago my sister and I cooked the big meal for a large gathering of family. We had four of my stand mixers going at the same time! Worked great for getting everything to the table on time! My sister USED to make fun of me and my collecting of mixers, not anymore! Was a little noisy but fun. I think we ended up using about 10 mixer bowls that day! Bill
