Kelton,

In the 3rd picture in the original post, the box is marked "777" and therefore I would assume it to be just that. Meaning, a red twill bag with "Electro-Hygiene" branded on it.

Well Thank You Everyone,
It is a great find. The Bag is not included, but i am sure they can be found on the interweb. As for price, it is on e bay for 450.00 OBO. The picture with the serial number confers it is a model 777. isn't this the last generation of royals to be made in the US of A ??

Dennis,

This Electro-Hygiene model 777 was built in November of 1972.

The original Adjust-O-Rite plate, red in color (and which also says "Electro-Hygiene" on it), isn't there, either.

Attached picture (by tom519) of what the 777 looked like. In 1972, it was similar but as I said before, the Adjust-O-Rite cover plate had "Electro-Hygiene" on it.

Hey
You won't fetch that much. I'd see you hard pressed to get more than $125. Especially without a bag. 1972 vacuum new in box is cool bags run $50-$100.
Nice find there.
Les

What throws me is the serial number. I wonder if its a newer model. i will not be sleeping tonight. Gotta get over to storage and take a closer look at this vacuum. I may put it together to get the bigger picture on this. I will keep in touch. I will also look for the bag.
good night

Hey

lesinutah's profile picture
The model is 777. Electro hygiene is a royal vacuum. They have Stark vacuum modern hygiene are all royal vacuums made by private label. It doesn't diminish the value. Been I believe has an 880 Stark vacuum same as my 880 royal vacuum. The name doesn't affect it unless it's a rare model. Ben can tell you rare models. We have another long time member he sold one of the hygiene brand royals. He may have the best collection in the United States. He is super friendly to boot.
So don't think your finding a lost treasure. You have a great vacuum. If you find the bag and your eBay auction ends not sold keep it.
There are really good vacuums. Yo
There is a few sought after royals. The powercast, the power team canister, early models circa 30s 40's and 50's.
I have a late 1920s I have half way finished.
The vacuums deep clean just as good if not better than Kirby the industry giant.
Your not getting rich off the vacuum new in the box. They have lots of royals new in box. You can get the 10 am 18 inch nozzle commercial new in box for $230. That and the powercast are the royal vacuums most desire able. I'd say 880s are desire able the market has quite a few available. The reason is there awesome.

Hey Lesi,
You been doggin my find ever since i put the post up, This was my fathers vacuum. He was in the vacuum biz for around 40 + years. I know i can't get $450.00 for this vac. That is what OBO is all about. In fact, i thought i could come to the experts to give me constructive criticism. Hey, any vac that is 30 to 40 years old, new in the box is a cool find, Right? Ok i have said enough, maybe to much.
Mic Drop...out

You only drop the mic if you owned the other person. I have not been dissing your pics. I pass along the truth. I have watched eBay for quite some time. The most I seen for a royal vacuum is $275. If it was your father's why don't you keep it. Is it because you would not use it either?(that would be a mic drop). I call it like I see it. The obo is what your going to get. It's a nice vacuum. BTW it's Les not some insinuating name either. Good luck with your vacuum. I just am a honest voice of reason. It's also called reality.

Hey LES,
Your handle ran together...Lesinutah...I am not good at spelling. I could have said Lesi nut ha. That would be immature, like my pictures, but i digress. Just having fun. Now lets get down to business:
If you look at my new picture post, you will see it is from E Bay. Oh look its that very same vacumm that you spoke of. No, i didnt get $125.00 like you spoke earlier. What does the pic say. I believe it says $450.00..with today's date. I believe that's a Mic Drop. BOOOOOMM..Yiipppee. Oh, I did learn something about all this. That picture that you posted from tom519, I think i have one of those to. What do you think its worth LES IN UTAH ?? I will come up with pictures later. Kiss the chicken.

Hey

lesinutah's profile picture
Hey new b. I sold a Kirby bag for $350 I do believe that is an eBay record. Congrats on your sale.
You come to this forum acting like a clown. You ask for vacuum expert opinions. We gave you our opinions. I spoke the truth of my observation. I take it you can't take criticism. If you can't take criticism don't ask for opinions.
I'm indifferent about you selling your vacuum. It's good for you and it doesn't affect my life at all.
You sold your vacuum, bravo. Do you need justification or vindication you showed us. I hate to break it to you neither was achieved. You come to our forum acting like a clown and a fool. You return as a clown and fool. If you seek any type of vindication or justification that's your problem. Your clearly lacking confidence asking for an atta boy.
Do the vacuum board a favor. Leave the board and go elsewhere to act like a clown and seeking praise. This is Richard Simmons self help board. The board is for vacuum collectors and enthusiasts.
Good luck to you and your eBay.
Les

Hey les,
I think you hit the nail on the head. I see the passion of many people on this forum. I like it. You think i was picking on you? In fact you were picking on me. The new guy...Thats ok, you cant break my passion..as long as i have my chicken, and this new found hobby. You seem a little tightly wound. Thats ok, I almost almost lowered my bid on E bay on your word. See LES, you don't know the whole story, didn't try to find out. My mom is ill, we need the money. Enough of that. The chicken, well that is just plain fun. Come on..a rubber chicken..lighten up.Its the holidays. Do you want an apology. Not here pal. Chicken says no. Now if this forum doesn't want pictures of me and my chicken, I need to know from them. (Hope They Are Laughing)
Now down to the business at hand.
I have more pics, maybe one with a chicken, so beware
Peace to you all..yea you to LES
The last pic is dedicated to you..LES.

Well congrats, you got a great price out of it. I have to agree about what one of those would normally go for but you found the right bidder and being NIB probably was a big reason. I was given a Royal 5700 on Craigslist that I got lucky on. Not near that nice and pretty used but everything works, it came with bags and belts and the guy just didn't need it anymore and was hoping someone who would use and appreciate it would get it. I hope you do well on everything you have to sell and find any vacs you have to have because you like them. I have mine because I like units that work well and last a long time. Royals seem to be tanks that do a great job cleaning and grooming my carpet and upright or canister they just work.

Hey
I might have been on edge my mother passed away a few days ago. But alas I got a festive Thanksgiving pic.
It was tongue and cheek no big deal. You do have nice vacuums. I'm glad your mom can use the money.
Don't try to deep fry the chicken.
Thanks
Les

Funny Story,
I work in schools...yes this crazy guy with the rubber chicken. Sometimes it gets a little boring with my work, especially in the summertime. My friend and i would literally have to go in every room to do our job, so this (Chicken, other props) is what we would find. I look back at these pics, they make me laugh and they bring back great memories. Sometimes you have to look at yourself and wonder, what was i thinking? I may mix a few more in with my vacuums, if you don't mind.
MAY THE CHICKEN(FORCE) BE WITH YOU

I it's quite a story forbidden on the board. I got into a pissing contest it was frowned upon the moderators of the board. If your interested email me. I can go in detail. I can say it's a sweet bag.
