I already have two,

But I ordered another just for fun.

They are not great filtering machines, you do have to dump the very small dirt cup often, but they are a fun, quirky little vacuum.

You are right.

$34.99 is a great deal. You can hardly get a parts machine for that.

I noticed this morning they went back up - Like I had said when I posted, it was a one day 30% off sale - They said it was 30% off the entire website - They called it the "deal of the day" -
When they were introduced in Canada two years ago, they were $499.99 and Home Depo had them on their website last year for $399.99 -

So Like I said, you can't go wrong for $39.99...

They are neat looking vacuums. I didn't realize they came with a separate dusting, fabric, crevice tool and a floor brush. I thought they had a 3 in 1 tool instead.

Factory outlets have sales a lot, they have to clear stuff out often or they'd run out of room. I am sure it won't be the last time it goes on sale.

I would have to agree- I am sure they will either lower the price again, or have another sale...
Especially since that website is actually a T.T.I. website owned by the T.T.I. Company - It explains how it is so cheep -
They are probably selling them at the cost to manufacture the units - I am sure at $39.99 they still made a profit-

Went for it at $49.99

henrydreyfuss's profile picture
I paid $61 with tax and shipping. Although reception has been mostly poor, a new full-featured canister with a power nozzle and extra tools for that price doesn't exist.

I was initially very intrigued by these strange-looking vacs, so now I'll be able check one out see how it works. It looks like it will clean well, but be high-maintenance with it's small dirt cup, and inefficient compact dual cyclone setup. I'm sure TTI is abandoning this design altogether, but it looks like if they just addressed the machines flaws, they could have something special to offer.

If I had the space I would go for it. I love canisters and like the looks of it. I heard the hose/wand setup isn't all that great either. Kind of clunky. But it does come with 3 separate tools plus a floor tool according to the manual. And it is neat looking for sure.

I'd say it's well worth $61 for its uniqueness and something to mess with.

Hoover Air Revolve Canister Vacuum - $34.99.. SOME PICTURES

danorob1's profile picture
Hi All - I am sorry I did not post any pictures prior to this - I had my Shiny New Left Hip Replacement on October 3rd, so life has been living at the Kessler Outpatient Rehab !!!
.
I purchased two of the Air Revolves - One will never be opened, and other I opened for the pictures, and ran with only the hose to check the suction, and then it went back, into the box, unused -
.
So - Suction - Not all that great - I can not see this being a deep cleaner on carpets because the suction is barely acceptable and agin not all that great - To be honest, my Shark Lift-Around Pod felt like it had more suction then this Hoover - I was very surprised...
.
It does come with a different power nozzle then the Oversea's versions - It is the same WindTunnel small nozzle they use on all the other current canisters - We also get a second horse hair bare floor brush that does not come with the over seas versions -
.
If anyone wants to see any other specific pictures, let me know - I just loaded them at random - I packed the open one back up, but did not tape the box closed yet - I also will add that everything is very clunky - BIG TOOLS - Stupidly Oversized - Short Power Cord - 20-Feet... Short Hose -
.
With that Said - The fun Factor, and the Cool factor are there - If it like a Modern Day Roll Easy - I am not sure why it tanked in the US and Canada -
Again - What can you buy for $34.99!!! It is good for the money, but in no way is it worth the $300-400 they started at -
.
The Dirt Devil Stick was $13.99 and included the small electric Stair Power Head, and the 10" Electric Carpet Power Head - Again - What stick can you buy with all the goodies for $16.09 - Since I am giving that to someone I work with, I did not want to open it - Nothing really great about it - Just good for the Money...

I like the looks of it. I'd buy one if I had my own place and the space.

That power nozzle actually looks like an improvement over the UK one I saw in a video. It looked squeaky and clunky, and just not very impressive, although it did have a light to show when the brush was on.

I'm surprised they include so many attachments for a modern big box type canister. The horsehair floor brush looks pretty well designed.

So... the unit really is not that loud - The Power Head is actually louder then the canister - I only ran it held in the air to be sure it worked - I DID NOT use it on carpet...
.
There is a Crevice Tool, Dusting Brush, Upholstery Tool with Lint Picker Strips, a Horsehair bare floor nozzle, and the the strange bare floor tool two row rubber squeegee like strips, that I have no idea what you would use on...
.
But, The tools are HUGE - Between the gigantic hose handle and the very large tools, I think it would be clunky to do any type of detail cleaning with...
.
I am sure it would be fine for bare floors, carpet, and edge cleaning with the large crevice tool, but the opening is a weird almost triangle like opening - Maybe to large to do much good -
.

Two Model Numbers on this Vacuum.. Help please...

Hi Guys,

I want to pull the trigger and buy this Hoover and I saw there are Two Model numbers for the same vacuum. Does anyone know if there is any difference in the two other than the “plain box” or colorful store type box? SH40090CA and SH40090PC. The Last Two Letters are different, but online I can’t find any difference in either.

Do they both come with all the same tools and accessories and is it the same powerhead?

If anyone can help me, I’d appreciate it and is there anyone on here that bought one of each? I thought from the picture on Rexair (Greg’s) post he might have bought both as one is in a brown box and the other is in the colorful artwork box.

Thanks guys, Patrick

I missed out on this a few times as I debated and waited too long and it went up to $49 again, then down to $39 but now that it’s at $34.99 again and free shipping... I MUST buy one! Thanks

Actually - The Model number has NOTHING to do with what you get in the cartons as far as attachments -
.
All the attachments come with both models - It is simply the type of outer carton -
If you look at the pictures that I posted, One is a closeup of the carton showing the model # SH40090PC -
.
Here is the difference:
SH40090PC-Plain Carton-Plain Brown Outer Carton for QVC/HSN/Home Depot Type Sales-Plain white inner carton -
SH40090CA - Print Outer Retail Carton as shown in reply #15 in this thread - Actually both Cartons are shown in that picture - The PC Brown Plain Carton, snd the CA Printed retail carton -
.
According to TTI, And "PC" in the end of the model # is always a Brown Outer Carton - They has the same thing the First Devil Stick Vacs when I got one - One in a plain carton, one is a printed carton -
.
Hope this helps-
Dan

@danorob1

Thanks Guys!

Dan, I appreciate you getting back to me so quickly and I am happy to say I placed my order just now for the Hoover Air Revolve Canister Vacuum!! Like you said, for $34.99 how can you go wrong!! I’ve paid more than that for a cheap dust buster type cordless vacuum LOL

I am very excited as I have wanted one of these Hoover for my collection for a very long time. I always passed on it though as I don’t have many Canister/Cylinder Type vacuums in my collection, plus it was always $100 to $150 bucks.

Dan @danorob1 If you don’t mind me asking do you remember how many business days after you placed your order, did your shipment arrive at your home? I am in Ohio so that might vary from New Jersey.. but I’m SO excited I can’t hardly wait. I think this is the best deal I’ve paid yet for any vacuum when you compare the original retail cost with what I finally paid, AND it’s a brand new vacuum.. Not Factory Blemished or Refurbished. A Brand New Hoover Vacuum for $35 Bucks!! Whooo Hoooo LOL

Lastly, can I ask everyone here for help. I always buy all filters and bags (If Bagged unlike this one) and keep all the extra parts in stock in my home for every vacuum in my collection. I just want to have extra sets of filters so when one set is being washed at the recommend interval, I have an extra dry set to put back into the Vacuum. That way if at any time my husband or someone in the house vacuums with one of them, they are ready to go and not missing filters. Ok, that and I’m just very OCD about my vacuums and I need to have all the parts. You should see the drawers and drawers of brand new filters and belts and extra parts I have in my vacuum room! Anyhow, if anyone knows where to get a complete set of filters for this vacuum, please let me know. Oh and the Brushroll Belt Type/Number??

Thanks guys!!

(Jon) Patrick McConnell

P.S. I almost forgot so I’m editing my post... Dan, Best wishes for a speedy recovery on your Hip replacement. I did Not mean to be insensitive to your recent surgery and you know how it is with us Vacuum Collectors.. I had one thing on my mind. haha. But seriously, take care and I hope all goes well for you with your new Hip. My Mom has had both hips replaced and did great and feels so much better. Anyhow, thank you Dan for your post, your help and pictures.. Take care!

Hi Jon - I ordered on 10/23 and they arrived on 10/26 -
.
As far as extra filters, I wish I could help - I won a set of two on an e-bay auction, but when they arrived they were incorrect and did not match the listing which was for the correct filters - They were very sorry about the issue and refunded my money back and told me to keep the wrong filters which fit nothing I have !!!
.
Evidently they mixed up shipments and have no more to send - If you find any, let me know where - Here is the link to the auction I won so you can see the item numbers on the picture -

I don't even want one of these.
If I had one, I wouldn't want to use it, just keep it in the box.
I have no room for another vacuum to sit around and not be used.

You guessed it...I just ordered one!
Seemed like a price that was not to be passed up.
What's wrong with me?!

Honestly, I don't know if I'll even take it out of the box.
After ordering it, I decided to see what it sells for elsewhere.
On Amazon, it's a little under $100.
Then, I started reading the reviews.
It sounds like, if I was to open it and turn it on, it might break.

Hi Bill - Not a problem - I understand being cautious - To be honest, their descriptions are not that great - The PC Plain Carton version is basically shipped double cartoned so I think it will hold up better in the hands of FedEx Ground !!!!
.
I had to do a lot of research because when I got the two Air Revolves, I also picked up the dirt Devil stick with the dual power heads - One for rugs, and one for stairs and upholstery... It took half an out of looking up the model numbers on the web to find out what was really included... Again - They need to work on the description of "what is included" as they are not very accurate, but fortunately you usually get more then they state...
.
And Barry - As you are a collector, I would not worry about it holding up - It is not that badly built - Like I said, just clunky with large attachments -
.

I'm so tempted to order one, but absolutely no more room and I've been buying too much on eBay lately. lol The shipping cost alone is worth that price at least.

I'd be afraid to run it too though, because I would want the plastic to stay clear. But if it's meant to be used , use it I guess.

Called Hoover Customer Service about replacement filter cost

completenutt's profile picture

I attached a link to the only webpage that Hoover still has up for this product.

Kinda sad, but one bad review does not mean all that much.

My experience with using it while teaching my niece how to use it, was that the suction was moderate to strong, not sure about if it's up against much resistance if it fades fast... it probably does.  However, it's definitely a huge step up for her from a low powered stick vac, which she couldn't use for dusting or above floor work as easily.

The Hoover Customer Service Rep. said that

HEPA pre-motor filters are: $9.52 + $6.99 shipping; part number 440008004 on back order until July 2019

Foam pre-motor filters are: $1.04 + $6.99 shipping; part number 440008005 on back order until July 2019

Also, seeing in an online video somewhere, that there actually is a post motor foam filter, which I thought should be easily accessible by removing the four small screws next to the carry handle.. no such luck!  It must involve removing the large green "wheel" plastic, and I was afraid it would crack.  Damn, that could have been useable.

I did find from the Service Rep. that there is a HEPA type filter under there and it is an exhaust filter and is a bit costly... like more thatn what we paid for the whole machine!

Exhaust HEPA filters are: $36.92 + $6.99 shipping; part number 440008002  available now

Note that the numbers on the dust bin sticker are incorrect, per me tediously going over it twice with her, I am sure the part numbers I got above are correct.

Happy Hoovering!

BTW, I saw on their website that Hoover doesn't have ANY Canisters at all in their line up.  This may be the end for them producing Cansiters.

My G-d, what's this world coming to?

Yep, no canisters or bagged vacuums at all. Really sad. But the world is going to swiveling uprights and stickvacs, it seems. Full size vacs are going out from most big boxes.

Hi Guys,

Well thank you to Bill for the filter information, very helpful to have the correct Hoover part numbers, but pretty useless (Thanks Hoover) when no one has them in stock! Lol. I am not worried about the internal, non customer serviceable filters as this vacuum will be used lightly for fun and kept as a collectible for my own joy of owning it. But I do like to have the filters that get washed for one reason, I don’t like to leave one of my vacuums sitting around the house without all the filters properly fitted in the off chance it accidentally gets plugged in and used. That and I always let the filters sit to dry for two or three days to make absolutely sure they are completely dry before they get put back into the vacuum. So thank you for the information and Ill keep an eye out for available spare filters and post here if I find them.

Thank you to Don as well for your initial post and bringing this to our attention. I never would have known about this deal as I didn’t see the post when it was $79, but I probably wouldn’t have paid that for it, as I said before, I mainly collect upright vacuum cleaners. This one is just TOO Cute though to pass up. I am however a bit disappointed at Direct Tools Factory Outlet... I ordered my Hoover Sunday the 18th and assumed from their website info that is would be shipped on Monday, well mine did Not even leave their warehouse until Tuesday so now I won’t get my Hoover until this Friday! Initially the information from DTFO said it would “Arrive” at my house on Wednesday the 21st. Regardless it’s all good, I’m just SO excited to get this vacuum.

Ok, thank you to everyone else involved with this thread and all the great people I’ve met and chatted with here on Vacuumland.org I really appreciate having a place to share my passion for vacuum cleaners and to also have a great source to voice concerns, questions or just chat about this topic.

Everyone safe travels and have a wonderful, blessed Thanksgiving holiday!

Patrick

Hi Patrick

justjunque's profile picture
And Happy Thanksgiving!
I ordered one on the same day that you did, and had the same reaction.
Like I said earlier in this thread, I don't need this vacuum, and didn't even especially want one.
But the price seemed so good, I couldn't resist!
It may not even get taken out of the box.
But that didn't stop me from checking the shipping status every day.
It must have shipped the same day as yours, because my projected delivery day is Friday also.
If I do open it, I may run it once, just to see what it's like, and to be able to say that I tried it out.
Or, I may leave it sealed, and just experience it vicariously through those who have used it.

Barry

Update:
Patrick; I just checked my status again, and it now says it should be delivered on Monday.
It's in Charlotte, NC today.
As cold as it is here today, I kind of wish I was in NC!

What a Fun Vacuum! I’m definitely glad I bought it!

Hello Everybody!

IT ARRIVED SAFELY!! Lol. I got my Hoover this morning at 9am and it was in perfect condition, only a few minor scuffs on the box but WOW the top of the box was dirty! Covered in a soot type black dust, but thankfully it wiped off.

Barry, I think you are going to LOVE this vacuum and if you don’t keep it sealed, at least take it out and turn it on to listen to the motor and feel the suction. Thank you for the Thanksgiving wishes and I hope your family had a wonderful time.

I have to admit I am very impressed. My initial evaluation and I have to say (shock, gasp) this is a wonderful canister vacuum. I found the design to be one of the easier canister designs to roll smoothly behind me. I love the power button and brushroll switch being on the handle as that is my biggest complaint for my Simplicity canister, I’m not big on foot operated switches. I actually feel the suction is quite strong for a canister and my ears find this Hoover very quiet. I also think the motor for the brushroll is quieter than some I’ve heard. None are as whisper quiet as my Simplicity, but it’s very pleasant sounding to say the least. I also love the way it rolls and follows behind me so smoothly. I don’t care for canister/cylinder type vacuums and 99% of my collection is Upright type vacuums.. BUT with that said, this would be my favorite if I had to choose one to use everyday. I guess because I’m a big guy I don’t find the bigger attachment tools a problem and actually like all the attachments (but one.. the floor tool with double squeegee strips.. Why?? Lol) and one thing I always check is the dusting brush and how soft it is.. this one is perfect and gentle enough for dusting most things. I’d never use any vacuum dusting brush on my TV screen, but some people do. Otherwise I would use it on most items to dust my livingroom tables, fireplace mantle, window blinds, etc.

Ok, I could ramble on and ON about this cute Hoover Air Revolve Canister.. but I won’t bore everyone. I willl say this though, IF I’d bought this Hoover back when they were still $79 bucks, I would still be very pleased and feel I got a great bargain. At $34.99... I Definitely recommend everyone buy at least one. I kinda wish I had bought two, but not sure if I want to go through ordering another. The only reason I’d like to have two is I think I will be using this more than most of my canisters and I would like to have a backup just to have as a collectible and not used.

Thanks and I included a lot of pictures for fun. If anyone has questions, feel free to ask and I’d be glad to answer if I can and also if anyone wants specific pics of anything.. let me know. The last two pics are to show how much dirt, dust and hair I picked up just from a quick vacuum of my livingroom area rug that was vacuumed last night. I was impressed and the filters were not bad at all after using it in several rooms of my house. You could see some dust on the black foam filter, but the other one was still clean.

Patrick

P.S. Thank you again Dan (danorob1) for bringing this to our attention! I really appreciate it and am happy to have been able to add this to my collection! If you or anyone else ever see a brand new, never used Hoover Z700 (the deluxe model) U9145-900. PLEASE let me know as I really want to add it to my collection. Thanks

Hey Patrick,

justjunque's profile picture
Thanks for the review!
I'm glad you like it!
I was beating myself up for ordering one of these vacuums.
Now, I'm contemplating ordering a second one.
My tracking still shows it for expected delivery on Monday.

I can't, for the life of me, figure out what they were thinking with that squeegee floor nozzle!
If it was a wet/dry vac, okay.
But a bare floor tool should have bristles, as far as I'm concerned.
Will the squeegee thing even glide over bare/hardwood floors?
That's what I have almost everywhere.

Barry

That weird tool...

completenutt's profile picture

I told my niece to use the powerhead on the rugs, the floor brush on her hardwood, and the squeegee weird thing on her vinyl/tile kitchen and bath floors, only if they were dry, of course.

Not sure what else it could be for, and no one at TTI customer service will have a clue, I'm sure!

Double Squeegee Floor Nozzle...

Hi guys,

Could it be Hoover includes the Double Squeegee Floor attachment to use on CARPETING?

Maybe it’s for delicate carpets and rugs that the brushroll would be too aggressive?

Just a random thought... discuss amongst yourselves and let me know! Lol

Patrick

EDIT: Well I guess I should have read the owners manual! Lol. Hoover lists it as a “Hard Floor Tool” for cleaning surfaces with crevices! So there goes my carpet theory. Lol. But I do remember Roger Lang’s video review of the UK Vac version of this vacuum and the Squeegee and it did a great job on his kitchen tile floor. Oh well, I still think I’d try it on delicate carpet and rugs.. I’ll let you guys know.

I certainly don't need any more vacuums but at that price shipped it certainly is tempting just because. I have a Royal 5700, 4650, 413, a Compact C9 rebadge I put a new motor in from mom, and she just gave me one of the Royal metal compacts she's had forever for me birthday, plus a Rowenta Cordless stick vac and some others.
I didn't start out to be a vacuum collector but I like things that work well and keep trying to upgrade.

Bottom line, it's a one of a kind.

completenutt's profile picture

Clearly based in the GE Roll Easy....

Original RE concept design has been improved in some areas,  like weight and filtration,  cheapened in most others, like no more RE copper wands (which must have been breathtaking when new) or a blower port, or longevity.

But, it was then and still is a completely unique and functional format.

I'm sure no one will pick up that ball again,  so it seems like an essential collector's piece to me.

I stopped at one on display and one unboxed, but have given 2 as gifts to good reviews. and ordered one more for an xmas gift exchange this year.

Okay Folks - Right now they are $25.00 - The link at the top is still to the correct plain carton version for the $25.00 -
.
Only for the plain carton "PC" Version - It includes all tools - See my original pictures for what you get - .
.
I just ordered two more - I can't resist - I'm going to give them to my two nieces -

Besides now being $25.00, I forgot to put this in my post above -
.
I also had a coupon for $10.00 off $50.00 - I am going to post it here, BUT I DO NOT KNOW IF IT WORKS MORE THEN ONCE !!!! It says "One use per customer" so I assume the coupon is the same one put into every carton, and only works once per address, or e-mail address -
.
So if it works, great - If not I tried... Here it is :

Thanks for updating us on the prices. I was wanting to get one since I first seen the post but with black friday coming I decided to wait. Glad I did. I guess this is a Cyber Monday deal event - they still have free shipping too. I cut it close with only 3 minutes left on Cyber Monday, so I could only afford the warehouse box version, but even still $25 is a great deal. Yo know what $25 gets you on Walmart.com? A stick vac.

You get a lot of vacuum at this price, and no stores are advertising or sell this thing, so it looks like it will fade into obscurity before too long. I'll use mine, but not as a daily driver. I think it looks like a fun vacuum to play with.

PC vs CA

justjunque's profile picture
Sorry if I'm being dense.
I'm understanding the only difference between the two versions is the box.
My PC version arrived, and the box inside the outer shipping box is plain white.
I'm guessing that on the CA version, that inner box has pictures of the vacuum, it's tools, features, etc?

Has anyone bought the CA version, to be able to confirm this?
From a collectible standpoint, I'd kind of like to have the box with the pictures.
When I checked this morning, they had the crazy $25 deal on the PC, but they did show the CA at a still very reasonable $34. ($34.99?)
I'd be disappointed if I ordered the CA, and when it arrives, it's in the same, plain white box.

Thanks,
Barry

Okay.
I just went back and re-read the whole thread, and found your explanation of the different numbers.
But...I still have a question.

Based on your pictures, (thank you for the pictures), it's the OUTER box that has the pictures on it.
Is the inner box still plain white on the CA version?

Barry

Hi Barry - Take a look at greg's picture in reply #15 in this thread -
.
He obviously ordered one of each - The printed retail carton "SH" Version is the one in the top of the picture - it does not get repacked, and is shipped by TTI in the original printed retail carton which will be covered with Fedex Labels - But it is still the printed pictured retail carton none the Less-
.
Below it in the same picture is the "PC" Plain carton version which simply is a plain white carton containing the vacuum, double packed into a brown shipping carton that says AirRevolve on the outside with the model number and serial numbers as shown in my picture -
.
Hope this helps -
Dan

Sorry Barry - I typed "SH" instead of "CA"-
.
The "PC" is plain white box inside of outer Brown Shipping carton -
.
The "CA" is the printed retail version - Shipped by TTI "AS IS" - Not overpacked - Printed retail carton will be covered in labels and exposed during shipping -

So with the CA version, there is no "inner" box. Got it.
I guess, if the shippers are careful with it, it might arrive intact.
I would have preferred a retail box, inside a brown, outer shipping carton. Oh well.
I still might order one.

I think it was because of Black Friday - I ordered two more on 11/26 and mine are still processing as well -
The first three orders I placed shipped the next day -
Again - I am sure they got slammed on black Friday like everyone else -
.
Case in point - I placed an order with Amazon a bunch of toys that were sold and shipped by amazon on 111/19 - 10-days ago - NOTHING has shipped yet - They told me they are very backed up and it would ship between tomorrow and Monday -
.
I would not worry as I am sure they will ship shortly...

Both of mine got delayed by a few days too.
Once they eventually shipped, I got a projected delivery date.
That date then got pushed to at least two days later than originally expected.
Not the end of the world. Just a little frustrating, when you're really looking forward to getting something.

Also just a side note - If you watch the Video in reply #52, remember that this IS NOT the power nozzle that we get in the states - That Video was by IBAISAIC and is a UK VAX Version -
.
The nozzle on the US Version is the Smaller WindTunnel Power Nozzle the they use on most of the U.S. Canisters-

Hi Guys,

I did it.. I’m in for a Second Hoover Air Revolve Canister as I couldn’t resist at only $26.75 with Free Shipping. If I didn’t have over 250 vacuums in my collection, I would have bought two more. But I decided against it and just have at least one extra for spare parts. I think I will just keep it unused and boxed up for a keepsake and only take it out to plug it in to make sure it works.

Dan, thank you so very much for all your help and posting this deal and also thank you for sharing your coupon code. For fun I put two Hoovers in my cart and used the coupon code you gave me and YES It worked. (See pic # 2) It would have been only $42.80 for TWO Hoover Air Revolve Canisters with your coupon, but even at that low price, I just don’t have the room to store another. I already have one entire bedroom in our house full of nothing but my Vacuum Cleaners, all lined up like Soldiers.. It’s fun and I sometimes think I should sell some off to make room for new vacuums.. but it’s a hard choice to make. Each vacuum has a sentimental value and a reason I collected it.. they are all like my “Kids”.

Anyhow, you guys that are on the fence or haven’t jumped on this deal yet.. DO IT! I love this vacuum and have used it daily since I got my first one. I love most everything about it and it’s been fun to use too. Oh and I guess from reading all the other posts (Thank you to those sharing shipping times and status with us) I will expect mine to not even ship out until the middle or end of next week or so. It’s not as hard to wait now that I have at least one to play with!! Lol

Thank you to everyone on this blog and those involved. Thank you again Dan for all your help and information too. If anyone finds any similar vacuum deals, please let me know. I missed out on a $5 Hoover Handheld Steam Cleaner, but I keep checking daily for new vacuums.

Lastly, Did anyone on here buy the $20 Dirt Devil Upright they had earlier on Direct Tools? I was thinking about it as it’s $40 at Walmart, but then they were gone next time I looked. I don’t typically buy cheap “disposable” vacuums, but it’s hard to pass up low, cheap prices. LOL

Thanks! Patrick

I'm still waiting for mine to be dispatched, but I agree with HonestJoe. But yeah, there is not many (new) vacuums out there that are worth their salt that you can buy for the cost of a pizza + drinks.

Well,

justjunque's profile picture
I gave it its first use.

The first thing that I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by, is the nice bare floor tool...with what seems like horse hair bristles!
I was under the impression that the only bare floor tool was the one like a squeegee.
Second, it's relatively quiet. At least, compared to my Electroluxes.
And, the styling/design just makes me smile.

If I had to nit pick:
I'm kind of spoiled by on-board tool storage.
The hose is kind of stiff.
And, not being a bagless fan in general, I find the whole dirt cup situation kind of messy.
After use, I did take the separator out and wiped it down, along with the dirt cup itself.

In general, I think it's a fun little vacuum, and I'm glad I got one. (Or, more than one)
Especially, for the price! Thank you again, Dan, for posting the heads-up!
I couldn't see it being my daily driver, but I'll definitely put it into the rotation!

Barry

The expected delivery date is this Wednesday; exactly one week from the order confirmation.
It usually takes longer than the expected delivery date too.

I was just able to cancel my most recent order of 3 pieces that I got for $24.99 each at the tail end of November.  It was still marked PROCESSING, and had not yet shipped.  I just told them I didn't need the items any longer.

Before I cancelled, I had just ordered 5 more at the $9.50 price, so I'm getting 5 pieces (all Xmas gifts to unsuspecting cleaners!) for under $50!

They will refund my other purchase within a few days.  I've done it before with them and they are nice about it, no hard times given (just have your order number ready to give them)... and the money really does go back into your account!!

I think I'm done now, although I might have one sent to another niece of mine in Philadelphia.

Good Lord what a thrill this whole thing has been!

Bill

Since shipping is costing them more than the purchase price

Their next step to liquidate will be paying us to take them.

I don't mind. I have one NIB to keep, One I'm giving to my sister, then I will have one to use, and a spare. Plus I have one that I bought last summer used from ebay. When it arrived it was missing the hose and wands. The seller refunded my purchase price and shipping cost and told me to keep it. so I have a used canister, power head, and attachments I can use for parts if needed.

Steve, are you sure all the models aren't the same?  The info. that's been going around since Dan posted about it last month is that the only difference is the plain box instead of printed retail packaging.  I'm pretty sure he opened a box and checked it out.

I'm kinda freaking out a little, because it really cheapens the Xmas gift idea if a major part of the machine is missing.

Still a usable tool, but not the same as having a PN.

WOW....

Ok... first, Thank you Bill for letting me know and I was able to do the same and cancel my order for $24 and placed a new order for TWO more. LOL I do Not need two more of these nice Hoovers, but hey at $9.50 I could NOT pass it up, no Vacuum left behind! Haha

Thank you to everyone, Dan for posting this originally and then everyone else for help and advice, etc.

I couldn’t pass up buying the Hoover Floormate Cordless Hard Floor Cleaner for $9.50 also, I don’t really need it as I LOVE my Bissell CrossWave, but I have every single Cordless Hoover Vacuum that Hoover makes, so I have probably 6 or 8 surplus, extra Batteries as this FloorMate does Not come with a Battery.

Christmas came early for me.. Wow, I just wish I knew people who wanted or would use a Canister/Cylinder Vacuum, but my family are vacuum snobs and want Upright, lightweight and all but my Mom use (gasp) Bagless vacuums! My Mom Loves the Bagged Upright vacuums I’ve given her and won’t give them up for bagless ever. She actually wants to get rid of the Dyson V8 I gave her and get the Oreck Pod so she won’t have to “deal” with dirt.

Anyhow, what FUN and thanks to all who have added to this thread and kept us informed.

Patrick

HonestJoe, thanks for the post about the Hoover Floormate. I ordered one myself, and even if the battery costs like $30 or something like that, you're still banking money. This is funny as hell... They could not get rid of them for two years, and we helped clean out the warehouse in a matter of a week or so !!!
.
I had received an e-mail that they lowered all their prices again yesterday but did not bother to check - I now have four of them, and that is enough - But $9.95.... They really wanted to get them off the books by the end of the year - They actually dropped the prices on a lot of the items on the website - lots of bargains to be found !!!

Hi Huskyvacs!

I think you will really like the Hoover Floormate, it’s a nice way to keep linoleum, tile and sealed wood floors clean and being cordless, it’s surprisingly powerful. I used to own one and gave it up for what I “thought” was better, Steam Mops.. then I was gifted a Bissell Crosswave from Bissell and I Loved it so much but it’s corded and a bit loud. So anyhow, I’m excited to get the Hoover Floormate again, it cleans well and is super easy to use.

I attached a link to eBay and an extended rumps Litium battery and Charger run around $30 to $40 bucks.. so you cannot beat at most $50 bucks for this once $249 dollar cleaner.

Also, in case anyone else is interested, I’ve linked the Hoover instructional videos for the Cordless Floormate.. it’s easy to use and keep clean.

I hope this helps and let us know how you like it. I might start a new thread when it gets here but not sure “where” floorwashers get posted on Vacuumland? I hope no one minds I mentioned and show a pic of the Floormate I ordered from Direct Tools??

Thanks every! Patrick

You could just post them into Contemporary, but the Household section I think would be best for shampooers, since it isn't a vacuum cleaner, and is more of a cleaning appliance.

Also this looks like it might be better than a Swiffer Mop&Vac, which is basically a glorified $65 stick vac.

I only have a small 1950's house so this battery powered floor scrubber should be more than enough for me! It says the runtime is 30 minutes per charge.

In a way, I'm glad I didn't hear about the $9.50 deal until after they were sold out.
I probably would have ordered at least one more!
I have two now, and one on the way, which should arrive tomorrow.
That gives me one to play with, and one of each box design to hoard away.
I have no idea why. It's not like I'll live long enough to see them become old, valuable classics.
Just couldn't pass them up!

I’m in for Three Total of the Hoover Air Revolve!

My dream would be a warehouse sale of New in Box, of low priced Hoover Z700 SUV Vacuums!

If Direct Tools Factory Outlet put these up for sale, even at $79 bucks, I’d buy at least Two, this vacuum is my biggest regret for Not buying one brand new.. I’ve thought about buying used but have never seen one clean enough to be like mint brand new, or if they look good, priced under $400.

I’m actually SO hooked on the thought of brand new Vacuums for as inexpensive as Direct Tools sold the Air Revolve, I’m checking their website several times a day! Lol. Is there a Vacuum Cleaner Collectors Anonymous Meeting?.

Hey, could everyone that bought the Hoover Air Revolve from Direct Tools do me a favor... I’d Love to see and get a total count from everybody to see how Many we’re purchased just from us here on Vacuumland...

I’m in for Three Total! Please everybody post your total purchased number for fun!

Thanks everybody!

Patrick

Tell Hoover to re-stock the handles and the rubber airpath access door for that Z700 and I'll be happy enough with that!

Hey Patrick,

I agree. That was fun.
It got me to buy new, bagless vacuums; something that I never do!
If I had seen that $9.50 deal, I think I'd be giving a few as Christmas gifts this year!

I'm in for a total of three myself.
Two of the "PC" version, and one of the "CA".

According to tracking, my third and final one will arrive today.

Yes, 11.

Two for myself and one shipped to a dear friend in PA whose Dyson broke, when they were 79.99 each earlier this year on DirectToolsOutlet which still seemed like a really good deal, btw, since I was watching them go down steadily from about 299.00 when originally available on Amazon a few years ago.

Then one for my niece when they were 34.99 which was in late October on DTO.

And finally 7 more when they dropped to 9.50 this week.  All already accounted for as gifts for the Holidays.

In the end, I'll still only keep my original two, one out on display unused, and one in box for the future to sell or give away someday.

Update:

justjunque's profile picture
Well, that didn't go exactly as planned.
I still have a total of three, but the third and final one, which came today, turned out to be another "PC" version.
I had ordered the "CA". They must have sold out of those first.
I wanted one of each box type to keep unused, but I must have waited just a little too long.
So, I have three in the plain carton.

Hi All - Like I said in the start of the thread, and in several places, they are exactly the same vacuum, with all the same attachments - The ONLY thing that differs is the Carton the vacuum is in -
If you look at the pictures I posted, you can see the "PC" carton and what you get in the carton -

Wow...

So many of you being generous and gifting these great Hoover’s! I didn’t buy extras as I don’t have anyone in my family or friends that use or want canister/cylinder vacuums. But that is so very nice of you guys that are gifting them to others! I’ve done that but it was a large assortment of my Upright vacuums.

I currently am trying to find homes for some others I don’t use, some are still new in box. But it’s not been too long that I gifted others. That is my only sadness about my Vacuum collection, most Brand New, never or verylightly used vacuums end up being given away as around here No one will pay for used vacuums unless it’s “garage sale” pricing of a few to $20 bucks. I wish some of you lived closer. Id gift them without having to box up, insure and pay to ship the, out.

Barry, congrats on yours arriving safely and I’m sorry you missed out on the $9:50 deal, but you still saved a bunch as I’m Not kidding.. I was in the stores two or three times eyeing these beautiful Hoover Air Revolves when they were $299 and almost bought one then but like I said it’s Not an Upright.

Well, last I checked one of my two remaining Hoover Air Revolves is in Ohio (about one hour by car from where I live) and it’s being delivered tomorrow! Fed Ex has been delivering i our neighborhood Early.. like 8 or 9am so I’m excited! The last, number Three Air Revolve and the Hoover Cordless Floormate are “Processing” but not yet shipped, so hopefully sometime early next week they will ship and by next Friday, I’ll get those two as well.

Thanks again to everyone.. this REALLY has been Fun! Maybe after everyone posts their purchase totals we can go back and count how many total just our blog members have purchased.. like Dan says I’m sure they are thrilled to have them sold out as I got to thinking I bet the cost of Warehouse Space is more Costly than the minor Loss on these last models sold at $9.50 each. They need more room for tools and lawnmowers Lol

Big thanks to everyone here!!

Patrick

I’m admittedly now considered a Hoarder! Lol. HEY wouldn’t that be an awesome episode of Hoarders, them coming in my house to find me buried in stacks of Thousands of Vacuum Cleaners! Lol I would have our house SO full I couldn’t find enough floor open and clear to vacuum! Haha

Hey Patrick, that would be cool if they have one of those Z's in stock. A few years ago I remember seeing a white version from my local thrift store but I ended up passing on it because it wasn't really in my interest but still they were really cool looking vacuums. These Revolves in this time of the year really takes me back from when I first got me a new in the box Hoover U5507-900 as a Christmas present in 2005 (I even still have a picture of it). Man those were in my opinion good vacuum times, loved every Hoover that was sold back then. One of my dream Hoovers is to find this Steamvac Spinscrub Multi-Surface Cleaner that was only exclusively sold through HSN.

For those that ordered from the Direct Tools website, about how long did it take for you to receive your tracking info following your purchase?

Post# 402123 , Reply# 100   12/7/2018 at 12:59 (1,958 days old) by HonestJoe68 (Mansfield, Ohio)

Hi Jason,

The Tracking Information showed up on “My Orders” on the Direct Tools website the day they process your order and Create the FedEx Label, that does NOT mean they have shipped it as I’ve seen the Label created one business day before it’s shipped. But you will see the status as soon as they update your order, on the Direct Tools website. I also recommend you Track the Order with their provided FedEx number, but Track it on the FedEx website as I’ve seen more information available online than what you will see populated on your account under “My Orders”.

My First order for the Hoover Air Revolve was placed on November 18th at 3pm, that order shipped out the 20th and I received my Vacuum on the 22nd at 9am.

My Second Order arrives Today! I placed the order for my second Air Revolve on November 30th around 10pm, it was shipped on December 5th, currently this box is “Out for Delivery” from FedEx so it should be here some time soon today.

My Third and Fourth Orders were placed on December 4th, when the Hoover Air Revolve went down to $9.50 and I ordered my Third Hoover Vacuum and in another order (an afterthought) I ordered a Hoover Floormate Hard Floor Cordless Cleaner, also $9.50. Those orders were placed this Tuesday and I received an Email from Direct Tools (See Picture) that stated with their busy Black Friday.. blah blah Cyber Week.. they said my last two boxes will be shipped “Around 12/11/18 and to keep an eye out for my confirmation. Both of the final orders changed from “Pending” to “Processing” where the first two show “Complete” as their Status.

So where I live in Ohio, it takes Two Business Days to get to me going FedEx Ground.

I hope this helps, I know we are all excited to get these great Hoover Vacuums but it looks like they are going to need extra time, but from what their website already stated, they require “Up to 7 Business Days to Ship Orders”.. so not too bad. I think I have been spoiled by Amazon delivering in ONE day and even on Sundays.. lol

Thanks, Patrick

Thanks Patrick. I received the same message today that my order was still processing:

"Your order is currently still processing. Due to high order volume, orders may take 5-7 business days to process. Once your order ships you will receive email confirmation of that with the FedEx tracking number.

Thanks,

I was just concerned that I hadn't received anything since 12/4. I think my calling them earlier today may have prompted them to check on it.

Try this:

www.directtoolsoutlet.com...
(store locator)

They have lots of stuff not on the site and each store seems to have different items. Just call them and ask.

If you're near a store, you can pick it up if they have it. If they don't but another one does, they can transfer it for you to pick up at the nearest store. They (apparently) do not ship but could be worth a shot if you're willing to travel to an actual store ... IF they have one ~

Hello Guys!

Well I got my second of three Hoover Air Revolve Canister Vacuums yesterday afternoon! I bet my local FedEx and UPS delivery guys wonder why I get SO many Vacuum Cleaners, as most are indicated on the outside of the boxes! Even the SH40090PC that came yesterday was a plain brown box but had Hoover and the Logo on all sides.

I carefully took everything out of the Box and like many of you, keeping one or more New in Box, Mint.. I first plugged it in to check the Vacuum, Brushroll, All Switches and extension Wand all worked properly, then I carefully repacked and put this baby in storage with my other boxed collectibles!

I’m SO glad I was able to get Three of these and believe it or not, I even wish I’d bought a Fourth just to have it for parts, etc.

I attached some pictures so you all can see, as Dan indicated as well, BOTH model numbers sold here on Direct Tools are exactly identical with the only difference being the PC doesn’t have the colorful retail store box, but a plain White box, shipped inside a thick brown box. Same attachments and brushroll, etc.

Thanks guys and thanks again Dan for bringing these excellent deals to our attention!

Patrick

That's my only regret; that I wasn't able to get one of the "CA"s in the retail box.
I'm a sucker for pretty pictures!
Oh well. I have three vacuums for a fraction of what one would have cost originally.
It's also unfortunate that we'll probably never be able to get replacement filters for them.
But I don't plan on using mine a ton anyway.

Hi Guys,

My Third and Final Hoover Air Revolve Vacuum and my Hoover Floormate arrive tomorrow!!

I’m excited to get both, I don’t know why I thought I needed three Hoover Air Revolve, but I am so happy to have bought them for such cheap prices! I mean what.. they were original Suggested Retail of $399.99? So I can’t imagine how much was saved by those of you that bought Ten or Twelve of them at $9.50. WOW that’s a lot of money saved! I thought about buying 5 or 6 extra and then giving out the parts to friends here for spares, etc.. but I do NOT have the heart to disassemble and farm out the parts of these lovely vacuums! I couldn’t bare to sell them off that way. Oh well, it is what it is!

Its funny but I still see the Hoover Air Revolve on Amazon and eBay for $89 to $100 bucks. But NO where online can I find or locate any filters for these great vacuums. I emailed Hoover Corporate for help and explained that even their Parts Warehouse website does not have stock or a date of release on the two customer serviceable filters, so I asked how is a customer supposed to maintain these vacuums! Also, I know someone here mentioned the filters were on backorder until July of next year. I was on hold for 20 minutes while “Gina” at Hoover.com checked and the main filter 440008005, will be backordered until August 2019, per her supervisor and the foam filter 440008004 is NO longer available ever, from Hoover direct!! I can’t believe how TTI has abandoned what old time Hoover used to do and that is support discontinued vacuums basic parts, bags and filters for at LEAST 10 years. Now good luck getting any parts as soon as Hoover removes them from their website.

Ok, I guess I will take extra special care and hopefully my Filters will last. I will keep looking online and hopefully will find one of these many secondary companies that make non-OEM filters will have some that are made for this Hoover. If anybody finds non-OEM Filters that will fit, let us all know here.

Thanks, Patrick

Replacement parts

I was never sure about vacuums, but there is a rule regarding appliances.

I also wonder as Vacuumdevil asked. What about warranty service?

(a) Every manufacturer making an express warranty with respect to an electronic or appliance product described in subdivision (h), (i), (j), or (k) of Section 9801 of the Business and Professions Code, with a wholesale price to the retailer of not less than fifty dollars ($50) and not more than ninety-nine dollars and ninety-nine cents ($99.99), shall make available to service and repair facilities sufficient service literature and functional parts to effect the repair of a product for at least three years after the date a product model or type was manufactured, regardless of whether the three-year period exceeds the warranty period for the product.

(b) Every manufacturer making an express warranty with respect to an electronic or appliance product described in subdivision (h), (i), (j), or (k) of Section 9801 of the Business and Professions Code, with a wholesale price to the retailer of one hundred dollars ($100) or more, shall make available to service and repair facilities sufficient service literature and functional parts to effect the repair of a product for at least seven years after the date a product model or type was manufactured, regardless of whether the seven-year period exceeds the warranty period for the product.

Give this link to those who you gift the Air Revolves

completenutt's profile picture

It makes it easy for them to see how to maintain it.

Saves a lot of explanation, and then all you have to do is to reinforce to them how important it is to clean the filters..

I think it will end up working out as a good vacuum for most people, albeit it will be just for the life of the included filters.

The others are Christmas gifts, but I’m keeping this one....I got tickled at the FedEx guy, he asked me today “why the hell did you order so many vacuum cleaners?” When I explained to him why, he then asked if I could order any more at that price!

If I'd known they were going to hit 9 bucks I'd have gotten one just because too, was tempting at 25 and at least one family member could use a new not antique vac right now. I told her about it but she never jumped in.

I noticed some of you plan to give these as gifts to people. Are any of them averse to using a canister vacuum? Just wondering, because it seems like a lot of people that aren't vacuum enthusiasts don't want a canister anymore, and I don't know why. I could be over generalizing though. But we see what Hoover's lineup consists of, and that this seems to be their last canister for the household lineup. So it seems they're either trying to push people away from them, or customers don't want one.

I agree too on that. I have a few uprights but I don't like using them for above floor cleaning much at all. Canisters beat them on that unless they have a really long extension hose on them. I've been hit by a few that liked to fall over whenever the hose was used.

I don't know why people with no carpet still buy an upright unless it's just because that's what they're used to and it's what Walmart sells.

They don't clean bare floors that well, even with a brush shutoff and again, if they're using it mainly for the hose, there's better setups for that.

Christmas Gifts

I gave my mom and dad one for Christmas. I ended up helping them unbox it and assemble it....I must say, I’m VERY impressed with it so far! It’s quiet, powerful, and just a really cool vacuum. Mom loved it, but got half mad at me thinking I spent a lot of money on it for her! She has her Electrolux UltraLux 2000 for deep cleaning, so this will be good for quick pick ups! I’m really glad I was able to get in on this deal!

I would like to hear how this Hoover/Vax Air Revolve has performed in the weekly use.
Is the filtration really so bad what some videos have shown? I mean does the pre motor filter get so quickly dirty?
I am asking because I am trying to find one for myself.

Thanks :)

Interesting little vacuum.don't think it would be worth 300 bucks but for 25-35 bucks is sort of neat to play with. The powernozzle sound is irritating.Don't know if I would want to run the powernozzle over those beautiful wooden floors! If you are a pet user-the HEPA filter could get a stink after awhile. It is good you can replace it easily even though Hoover doesn't show it.-And if you can get a replacement.Spot on about the upholstery tools-the second one you used was better. That Hoover vacuum would indeed,be a good one for a collector more than a user. The plastic "ears" on the cyclone probably won't last long since they are small. Is that part available?

It is a fun little vacuum

I agree witb you it is more of a novelty for a collector, and I would never have paid the original MSRP of $399.99.

They, Hoover, could have made it much better, and a solid contender by fitting it witb a bag system, the poorly filtering, small capacity dirt container is what caused its failure,IMO.

Hello Everybody!

I was just wondering how everyone that purchased the Hoover Air Revolve Canister Vacuums at this mentioned Direct Tools sale is enjoying their Vacuums?

I ended up with three and two are still New in Box, Never Used and only turned on to check that everything is in working order. The third I use often and have truly enjoyed using this fun Hoover!

I also wanted to ask if anyone has located a supplier for the two Filters that go in the Dirt Bin?? I very carefully wash mine and they are still in great shape, but I fear as these three vacuums get older I might find the filters deteriorate at some point.

I’d LOVE to hear from others to see how they are enjoying their Hoovers and what their thoughts are on this Hoover Air Revolve. I still absolutely Love mine and have no complaints. It’s a bit odd and has it quirks but it’s so darn cute and unique that I enjoy using it very much!

Thank you again to Dan for finding this sale and mentioning it.. I still cannot believe they can sell a once suggested retail Vacuum for $400 then all the way down to $9.50 and Sadly I check this website often and they have Never priced any vacuums that cheaply again.

Just wanted to bump this Thread back into play and see if anyone else wanted to discuss this fun find and share anything new about others experiences with the Air Revolve.

Thanks, Patrick

@lesinutah

Oh Less,

I’m so very sorry! I forget that the feeding frenzy of mad purchases made here were done so quickly that not everyone on this website that wanted to, was able to purchase this great deal.

My apologies and I didn’t mean to rub salt in old wounds.

I just love the vacuum and wanted to see how people that did get to purchase one were getting along with them and how they like them. I also want to see if everyone else’s Hoover Air Revolves are holding up very well to a lot of use. Mine is so durable it looks like brand new after just a wipe of the dust bin.

Also, I am not as informed to this website as to the rules of reposting or “where” I should put older threads like this one, so I hope I’ve not broken any rules or upset anyone.

Take care and again, my apologies Les!

Patrick

I was joking around. You posted correctly. I've never seen a product sell so quickly just by this thread. It's quite astonishing. I have seen a couple on eBay a few times.
Hoover should write you a thank you for clearing there warehouse.
I bet if we contact web sites about promoting great deals I think a few would do it. It would liquidate there inventory and get everyone here what they love which is vacuums.
Les

I have not used mine yet because I have been in the process of cleaning my basement and garage which I plan to use for vacuuming videos (i don't have much room to run vacuums around freely yet), so it's still been sitting around. Something fell on it while it was in the basement and it got a little scratch on the nozzle but it is otherwise just as it came out of the box. I do want to use it because it looks really fun, just haven't been able to yet.

I did not catch it that late to pay $9 for it, I think I was one of the ones that got it for the $20 mark.

I did get those Hoover SpinScrubs they had for $9.99 though. I bought two. One for my upstairs of my house for my kitchen and bathroom floors, and one for my garage and basement which will likely get twice as filthy (heavy dirt and old paint flakes off the floor there). Just last month I finally found a battery and charger set for it for $27.

Still in the box

I did not wait for the lowest price but still feel I got it for a fair price. It's still unopened in the box...considering gifting it to a fellow collector. I am soo out of room!

Hi Les! So glad I didn’t cause too much harm in bringing up this Hoover Sale! I was hoping you were joking as I really do care about everyone here at this site and never want to offend anybody.

Hey Huskyvacs! I can’t wait to see your new video area and more videos! I hate to admit I somehow missed out that you have your own YouTube channel.. I subscribed today. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the Hoover and I too bought that Spin Scrub and it is a nice floorcleaner! I will be checking out your channel to see if you have videos on it yet and can’t wait to see your videos on the Hoover Air Revolve too! Sorry about the scratch, I had that happen too when my Stick Vacs tipped and cause a Domino effect! Yikes at least my high end vacuums are all kept in a separate room, so only minor scuffs were caused to a few of my cheaper vacs.

Hi Vac-o-matic Rick! Wow, I can relate to the “out of room” feeling! I hate to say it but I’m wanting to buy more/new vacuums more quickly that I have room so I might be gifting some vacuums to other people myself too. That is very kind of you to think about other collectors too. I have met (online) with some of the nicest people here and for the most part I’ve been welcomed to this collectors sight with kind words and helpful advice.

Thanks everybody!

Patrick

Hi Patrick, thanks for the sub. The channel is kind of getting cobwebs for now, but I plan to overhaul it once I get my house tidied up and do some more professional stuff. Might also do repair videos for various things, not sure yet.

I would have bought one if I had the space to keep it. I really like power nozzle canisters and this is one modern Hoover I'd like to have. It looks really cool.
