Saw a Heritage on CL and wanted to make an offer - but I first had some questions, as the attachments he is selling the machine with are for a 500 series. I asked him if he could take some photos with the nozzle removed so that I could see the fan case/speed switch. I mentioned to him that those attachments are for a much older model and wouldn’t fit unless some modifications were made and I just wanted to see the full condition of the machine before I make any offer. He refused photos and said that the attachments shown are what came with the machine originally, which we all know isn’t true. My question is: is there a way to fit those older 500 series attachments onto a Heritage/Tradition, etc? If so, what do you have to do to the machine in order for it to work? Here’s pictures of the listing...

Chris,

If you decide on buying the whole auction, you can save those other attachments for a machine that does go with them. It appears the red tools in question are from a model 516.

I was thinking those went with a 516...

Just curious if there’s any way (knowing it’ll be botched) for those attachments to fit that machine. If he isn’t willing to send pictures, that just makes it even more fishy, but at the same time intriguing, as I’d love to see how butchered it really is to make those attachments fit.

The ad is on Craigslist Jacksonville, FL.

Maybe someone on here can shoot him a text and see if he’s more cooperative, lol.

Just go into it knowing they won't fit the Heritage 1 you're buying. The seller obviously just wants the thing out of the house, and doesn't know as much as vacuum collectors do.

He declined to sell. Probably declined to sell to me because I wanted information he either doesn’t know or doesn’t care to divulge. Oh well. Anyone like that isn’t worth the effort anyway, plus it’s not like there’s a shortage on Heritage I machines. I’ll find another one eventually.

Well the first thing is that those photos were taken in July, this is October. He's either trying to sell something he doesn't have and is a scammer, or he's too lazy to pull it out and go to the effort of getting it from wherever it is at and checking.
