Anyone know how to get a list of original asking prices for vintage Electrolux models?

Hi Guys,

Loving my Electrolux collection so much, I'm trying to accurately tell people about how in the mid to late 20th Century vacuum customers would invest in a good, long lasting, well performing machine and how that translates to current pricing.

I did learn the Olympia Ones sold for 399.00 and the Silverado sold for 479.00, but that's as much as I could find on original retail for any of my collection.

I find it fascinating to see how they were all priced, which leads me to examine them more when I'm detailing and disassembling some parts when initially detailing each one and cleaning them periodically.  One can see the quality of materials in general,  like in a PN 2 or PN4, for example, wherein there is a circular metal disc on either side of where the wand adapter is seated, and how that simple metal disk additional part creates better movement and longer durability.

It all makes sense when you get down to the elements.  It also makes me happy that I have invested in my own enjoyment of collecting and using gorgeous appliances that were originally made to the quality level of being able to demand such high  prices in a time when the customers too were demanding of quality products.

Any and all other models prices ranging from the Model XXX and up to the Grand Marquis would be greatly appreciated.

Or, if anyone knows of a resource on-line.  I tried looking for quite a while but found very little info. at all and nothing compiled.

Thanks,

Bill

The good news is that Electrolux was sold for the same price by all salesmen. For example, during its entire run (1937 - 1955) the model XXX (30) sold for $69.75 cash. I have most of the receipts from the different models showing how much they cost (for example, the model AF cost $99, the Power Nozzle was $49 and the cord winder was $19.75). I found most of the receipts tucked into the instruction manuals (I have almost all of them).

"know how to get a list"

Go to my old vac store(that must be emptied)--walk 25 feet toward rear--climb ladder off to the right--go past Kirby attachments,Eureka Express,Canadian Electrolux, turn left at Rexair accessories,go to 3rd box before you get to an original unbroken Regina Housekeeper and boxes of 70s Eureka & Kenmore power nozzles and look under the Electrolux News company newsletters and monthly contest brochures and they should be on top of service bulletins.
I thought that I would have some time to sort these last winter. Will try again this winter. They are 70s--90s with April & October being drive months to push for more sales with new price list that might introduce new vac at full price and previous at a close out price. Also trade in values and hose/attachment/parts prices.
At one time the Olympia went from $429 to $459.
