Hey
I have been busy with life lately. I recently acquired a 519 and a 560. I'll tell you now I thought 519 was person selling560. I paid $5 for 519 which is easily worse shape vacuum I've acquired. It had a good handle. It had 4 wheels emtor nozzle and motor. It had no bag 2 feet of a chopped up sanatronic cord. I think it was under water partially maybe 10 years. I soaked nozzle and I got most of the vacuum apart except bearing plate has 2 rusted on screws. I got switch off and fan outer shell all soaking. I may take pics but I'm bringing it back to original or better than original showroom condition. If you are reading this gets good. The second vacuum was schetchy. I'll save you the story but a 560 for $10. It's all original and I mean all original 560. It has bag sweet Aire cap everything is correct. The only bad part is the cord which is the famous red and white cord. It's badly taddered. I'm going to fix the cord. It's going to be stripped of bad waterproofing and checking every inch. Once all copper is good clear heat shrink every inch. The cord will be flawless and beautiful. It will take time but saving rare cord for all original vacuum will add character. The 560 I took apart blew out fluff balls checked carbon brushes and put it back together. I used a new Kirby cord to test out with led light and 4roll brush roll. I have a g series hose I added 516-h2 adapter to. The hose was awesome. The brush roll perfect. The bag I did wash it is clean. It needs cord fixed and sounds like just greasing front bearings a little dry. I've attached pictures. I am not looking forward to the 519 but 560 suprisingly nothing much to do. I know people like 560 having one in good condition I see why. It's a great looking machine. I just have to polish her. |

like you do. I've noticed there isn't much different from a 516-561, same for 505-515. I haven't sought out many b/c of that....I have a 516 and 519, sure, I wouldn't turn one away for a great deal ( which is what I suspect you dod too), but w/o much different between them.... they are all about the same aren't they?

505-512 1/2 of 513 use 3 amp motor. The 4 amp motor is 513-sanatfonic 7. 505-512 have toggle Power switch. 512 -515 I believe has brackers for nozzle in different position. It had something to do with airflow. 513-515 I'm guessing has metal foot switch. Later models changed to plastic. The black wheels are 505-512. 513 to 518 or 519 had grey wheels. 505 handle was vulcanized platic grip textured more like a gun handle.the 508 to 512 had black then grey handles like sanatronic handle loke a sleeve handle. Late 509 early 510 started handi Butler. The original 505 miracle head was different as I believe no different nozzle used same as brush nozzle. I have seen power nozzles with black belt lifter so not positive. I believe 519 and older all plastic belt lifter. 560 was first to have plastic cap with lpho inserted. ,6 blade ran 505-512 I believe and 513 went to 10 blade I believe when they changed motor to 4 amp. 518-561 had red where and red handle. 562 and sanatronic 7 are almost identical. D50 d80 same motor. D50 has light up logo. D80 was first nacuu. With wide handle. It was only wide handle to not have plastic back coin holder piece. 562 was first shakeout bag with closed top and zipper to access particles in the bag. Sweet Aire was from 510+562. First year it had black cap then it was red. 505-512 2 prong emtor. 513-d80 square 3 prong emtor. The 505 508 509 only emtors with 2 prong no sweet air. The early 500s are similar but different. 515 to even d80 are all very similar. The d50 d80 slightly different because motor is bigger and 2 speed. Every Kirby since d50 has 2 speeds. I'm like you 513 to 519 no real difference. I don't like the belt lifters on them and there all the same to work on no difference in power plant until 1965. So you can easily make 516 look like sanatronic 7. I'm not a huge fan but 560 color scheme is classy. I paid $5 for 519 and $10 for 560. The 560 is top 5 Kirby's if you polled everyone. I seen same bag on my 560 sale for $200 a couple months ago. It has value with cord bag looks if I sale I'd stand to make good money. I had a 519 bag but even with bag the value isn't their. Les |
