I’d like some opinions on used Filter Queens. There is this majestic for sale locally for $25 what do you guys think about these filter queen? Yes I’m aware that there are several filters that probably need to be replaced, are they really worth it? About this Model? I read they are suppose to be quiet , relatively speaking , I’m not a huge canister fan generally , though I really like my Rainbows, it’s the collector in me that has an interest in trying out a different vacuum like these. I have seen these locally for $75 as well but my interest peaked with the low price.
I have 80% carpet in house with main level having the 20%woodflooring, no area rugs on the wood really either. Kelton

Agreed The newer ones with the foam filters are supposedly not as quiet as the older ones, but at that price, it will be a fun toy and as Kirby said, the parts values... or resell it and get paid to play. | ||

That's an awesome machine.
Purchase a package of GENUINE Filter Queen cones and a new belt for the power nozzle. You may or may not need a headlight bulb. The filter up top is washable since it's foam. It just collects carbon dust from the motor's carbon brushes anyway. Personally, I see the 'enviropure' charcoal filter unnecessary. For over 50 years, all a Filter Queen needed was the cellulose cone, the pre-motor filter (both come in a pack of 12 cones) and the top carbon dust filter. | ||

That's a steal. I love my Majestic and Princess, they're both all-around great machines. I agree with Tom, just replace the circular pre motor disk and the cellulose cone with genuine replacements. The enviropure cone or biocone is unnecessary. I also replaced the foam filter batting in both of my machines since it's easy to find replacements for just a few bucks each on Amazon.

Woohoo!! I got it. For $10!! It was missing the tool caddy and had a break in the hose near the handle. I took it completely apart cleaned everything , made the hose repair via YouTube videos, cleaned off all white wall paint marks off all dark areas ,ordered new light bulb, filters , cleaned the communicator and checked the brushes ( lots of carbon dust in there),motor batting ( b/c it stinks), and finally a power nozzle belt b/c it’s slipping too much and not agitating the floor. Anxious to experience all hat a filter queen has to offer when all parts arrive !! Pic up close shows the repair

Can't argue with $10. I've got a black Majestic (I like your teal color scheme better) that I paid $5 for and then spent another $40 or so reconditioning it. The thing has decent suction but the power nozzle is nothing to write home about. A new brush roll might help but I'm completely over throwing any more money at it.

your thought mirrored mine on first use. I wonder about a better power brush too, a new belt will help mine for sure. I might give this to my mom so it may not matter...or need upgrading, but I wonder too. If I kept it, I wouldn't want to drop big $ on a new pwr nozzle...but a used one..... Wessel Works ebk340 I was told was a superior one

I bought a model 700 (Canadian brownie) off a fellow collector several months ago. I replaced the brush and belt in the power nozzle, new filters including the one under the dome and wow, what a difference. I previously had a newer black model and the power nozzle wasn't great. This older, metal nozzle works great and even manages to leave carpet marks :-)

Edgar - Try putting the brushroll in the extended wear position in the powerhead. I have done that with all my Filter Queen powerheads, & it considerably improves their grooming abilities.
Filter Queen's are really good vacuums, but with one bad flaw: the filter cone! The plain paper cellulose cone attracts all the fine dust in the dirt like bees to honey, & with hardly any dirt in the dirt basin, it's lost most of it's airflow. I find it necessary to give the cone a slight tap with your finger at least a couple times before emptying the basin to restore the vacuum's airflow. They really need to get with the times & switch to a cone made with HEPA Cloth material. Rob | ||

The "extended wear" position would be a setting on the brush roll that brings the bristles out further when they have some wear on them. Kirbys have this feature and Electrolux had it on the PN2. I didn't realize FQ had it also. I'll have to check into that whenever I dig that machine out of the depths of my barn where it's been buried since 2016.
