So a few days ago I got a new stretch hose for my Kirby G3 and it’s really cool looking till I found out on the end I saw a tear. How did this happen and is it there a way to fix it? I already let the seller know.

Have one of these stretch hoses and HATE it!!!Languishing in the unused, unloved attachment pile with the useless Kirby combo floor tool!Using that hose is like trying to vacuum with a Slinky. If you need a longer hose-have your favorite vac shop make you one!!MUCH BETTER!-WORTH IT!!

Interesting, I never heard of these. Are they OEM or aftermarket? It's possible you stretched it too far and tore it. You lose a lot of suction with stretch hoses, no problem to use the Kirby as a handheld with the handle attachment and the standard hose and carry it like a "lift away" vacuum.

Huskyvacs, I looked at the eBay description and they are a genuine Kirby brand.

I didn’t know that the stretch hose would have some bad reviews. Shoot I thought they were awesome.

Well I fixed the hose and I tried it out with the zip brush and it does lose some suction. I definitely would stick to the standard hose.👍

So I switched the G3/4 hose adapter off of the stretch hose and put on the standard 7 ft hose that came with the attachment set and also I used the zip brush with the standard hose and the brushes was spinning like crazy! Way much better than the stretch hose! And I also placed the G5/Avalir 2 adapter on the stretch hose and see if I can get a trade or something else to get a standard one.

Doesn't this belong in the Vintage section ?

I would stick with genuine Kirby Parts always!

This is a genuine Kirby part, and as far as I could research they started selling them in 2009 or 2010.

Kirby does Offer a fixed length 12 foot hose for all the G series models. I have thought about getting one for those times extra length is needed. I hate trying to use or clean anything with one of the stretch hoses.
