What a coincidence! The St. Louis vacuum collectors are also having a Halloween bash - as well as a Thanksgiving party which we have every year. It gives everyone a chance to use new machines like "The Pigg" or the Black Knight 2000 from Air-Tec. I liked your idea of using upside down Hoover hoods as potato chip bowls - I'll be using Hyla water pans (new ones) for that purpose. Hope your bash goes as great as all the ones we've had here in St. Louis in the past.

There are a few new people I'll invite as well. Luke G. might venture here, too.
I'll have to think about what to cook for the group.
There are several machines (were never part of my collection) to sell/trade, etc.
it'll be great to have the place full again.

You were on my list of calls......
Also, you'll be able to get your bag of Rainbow parts. They're still in the basement (next to the bodies). I'd hate to accidentally toss them during my 'cleaning'. The new carpenter was told about the cemetery....... he was amused.

Friends will be bringing all sorts of machines

gottahaveahoove's profile picture
I'll be setting out some machines for quick sale. NONE of them WAS EVER PART OF MY COLLECTION. Sorry, caps lock.
There are 3 Kirbys (one full box of tools, electrolux polisher (gold), Hoover Convertibles ( can be restored, used as parts donors) bojack bags, and the like.
Hopefully, the driveway will be lined up, then emptied. There will be no pigs of any sort here on the property.
Halloween decor will abound, as well as nice, Autumnal comfort food. Mike, fear not! I'll have gallons of your favorite beverage:your Pittston Hospital Iced Tea. (Just made 2 pitchers yesterday.

John- If Joe Kassock can come let him know I have a nice Hoover brush vac to trade him for the Regina Power team if he is interested. Also if you still have the green Regina broom in the cellar I'm still interested in that too.
Let us know if we can bring anything. Cider, donuts, halloween candy etc. Just name it.

See ya soon,

I was planning on serving cider. If you'd like to bring some, perhaps som Halloween candy.
Yes, the electricbroom is here. You certainly may take a look at it. I think I see that same model in your photo. There are all kinds of things here. Some won't be out. If there's anything you'd like to see, just let me know, and I'll gladly let you look at it.

Mike is adding tons of photos!

gottahaveahoove's profile picture
It began around 12:30. The last one left at 11:20 ! It was great to see the old gang again. WE also welcomed a new person to the fold. Welcome Robbie #2!
Vacuums ran all day. A circuit breaker tripped 4 TIMES.... (non-Hoover products). Dinner was fun. Thank you, Robbie Coonradt for the delicious pumpkin bread, Sam Addison for the cookies and cocoa, Chris for the steamed veggies, all else for the chips and assorted treats.
The boys, (Murphy and Harold) descended from their apartment to visit. Machines were etraded, repaired, bought, sold, enjoyed ,etc.
A wonderful time with wonderful people.
Pics soon.

AND.......................

gottahaveahoove's profile picture
Nine cleaners left the house....cellar dwellers, plus a ton on non-Hoover bags, (expensive Simplicity, etc.) were given away.
Everyone also left with a Halloween treat: Halloween kitchen towels, spatula, potpourri pumpkins, pumpkin spice soaps,Halloween tissues, etc. Always 'fun' to give holiday motif things away as a remembrance.

Thanks for opening your home and sharing not only with people who could attend in person, but also with those who, for what ever reason, can only participate from a distance.
Thanks to the web and picture sharing, an infinite number of people benefit.

And yes, you do have a beautiful stage with which to host.

This was spook-tacular.

They are a lot of work (prep), especially when you'r alone.
But, once everyone is there, having a great time, sharing, etc., it's all SO worth it.
I love having them. Years ago, the topic of "bashing" came up. Since I DON'T bash, I thought, "why not have a Halloween "Monster Mash" bash"? And, now, I think there have been about 8 of them at this time of the year. The house really lends itself to the decor, etc.
I'll have another one shortly AFTER Christmas, while everything is still up, and the pressure of the holiday is off.
